직무 역량이란 개인이 전문적 성공이나 직장의 승진 목표 달성 등을 목적으로, 개인의 직무와 그에 관련되고 필요한 기량이나 기술을 자체 관리 할 수 있는 능력을 일컫는 용어이다. 오늘날 서비스업 기업들을 직원들이 다양한 경영 능력과 운영 역량을 갖고 있거나 개발 하기를 원한다. 이는 서비스업의 본질적으로 복잡한 특성, 긴 노동 시간, 질 높은 서비스 제공에 수반되는 높은 스트레스 레벨 등에 의해 직원들이 직면하는 어려움이 다른 산업에 비하여 아주 크기 때문이다. 기존의 직무 역량에 대한 연구의 결과들이 일치점을 찾지 못하였고, 미국 샌프란시스코 지역의 호텔 산업에 대한 직무 역량 모델에 대한 연구가 제한적으로만 이루어져 왔기 때문에, 본 연구의 결과는 학생, 서비스업 교육자, 학과 프로그램 코디네이터 뿐만 아니라 산업 전문 종사자들에게도 호텔 산업이 요구하는 직무 역량에 대한 매우 유용한 정보를 제공 할 수 있을 것이라고 보여진다. Career competencies is defined as an individual’s ability to self-manage working and learning experiences in order to achieve specific career advancement goals and professional success. Today, hospitality businesses require their employees to have and develop various managerial skills and competencies, compared to what were required in the past. This is because the hospitality industry challenges the individuals more than any other industry - long working hours, and a high tolerance for stress due to the characteristics of service products. Since there has been only limited studies on a lodging industry competency model, specifically for the San Francisco Bay Area, the current study has its importance and uniqueness and the results of this study can contribute to both the academia and industry. Additionally, the previous research studies that focused on developing competency models for a lodging industry have not reached agreement when it comes to the most important competencies to train and foster future hospitality leaders. Therefore, the findings of this study will provide invaluable information for all parties that are involved such as students, hospitality educators, program coordinators, and industry professionals.
Service quality of Rural Accommodations in South Korea

The aim of this study is to examine the most important service quality factors for rural accommodations in rural tourism villages in South Korea by simultaneously utilizing Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA). Among the 18 items measuring the service quality of rural accommodations, 11 items fall in the first quadrant which indicates high performance and importance values. The seven remaining items were located in the third quadrant, meaning they were of less importance but also had a low performance. Management of rural accommodations in South Korea must make special efforts to maintain and improve service quality for the 11 high performance and importance value attributes. On the other hand, management might want to consider not focusing on and allocating resources to the 7 attributes located in the third quadrant.
Adaptive Behavior in Stroke Survivors: A Concept Analysis

Purpose: This study aims to explore a clear and evidence-based definition of adaptive behavior in stroke survivors and establish the antecedents, attributes, consequences, and empirical referents of the concept. Methods: The concept analysis was performed using theWalker and Avant method as a framework. Data from 90 publications were collected using various databases (PubMed, EMBASE, CINAHL, RISS, and KISS) and applied in the analysis. Results: Adaptive behavior in stroke survivors was defined according to four attributes: realizing change, taking an optimistic view, restructuring daily activities to suit oneself, and carrying out one's own daily life. The conceptual structure of their adaptive behavior comprised stroke onset, functional changes, and emotional liability as antecedents and autonomy, family equilibrium, and quality of life as consequences. Conclusions: Clarifying the concept of adaptive behavior in stroke survivors provides an understanding of the underlying attributes of this concept. Furthermore, it will facilitate the development of scales to measure the concept and the application of a theory-based intervention program that can improve adaptive behavior.

Background: This study aimed to compare and evaluate the marginal fit of nanocomposite computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) inlays. Three types of nanocomposite CAD/CAM blocks (HASEM, VITA Enamic, and Lava Ultimate) were used as materials. Methods: Class II disto-occlusal inlay restorations were prepared on a typodont mandibular right first molar using diamond rotary instruments. The inlays were fabricated using CAD/CAM technology and evaluated using the silicone replica technique to measure marginal gaps at five locations on each inlay. The data were analyzed by two-way analysis of variance and Tukey post hoc tests (α=0.05). Results: There were no significant differences in the marginal gaps based on the type of nanocomposite CAD/CAM inlay used (p=0.209). However, there was a significant difference in the marginal gaps between the measurement regions. The gingival region consistently exhibited a larger marginal gap than the axial and occlusal regions (p<0.001). Conclusion: Within the limitations of this in vitro study, the measurement location significantly influenced the marginal fit of class II disto-occlusal inlay restorations. However, there were no significant differences in the marginal gaps among the different types of CAD/CAM blocks. Furthermore, the overall mean marginal fits of the class II disto-occlusal inlay restorations made with the three types of nanocomposite CAD/CAM blocks were within the clinically acceptable range.
Structure–Activity Relationships of 6- and 8-Gingerol Analogs as Anti-Biofilm Agents

<P><I>Pseudomonas aeruginosa</I> is a causative agent of chronic infections in immunocompromised patients. Disruption of quorum sensing circuits is an attractive strategy for treating diseases associated with <I>P. aeruginosa</I> infection. In this study, we designed and synthesized a series of gingerol analogs targeting LasR, a master regulator of quorum sensing networks in <I>P. aeruginosa</I>. Structure–activity relationship studies showed that a hydrogen-bonding interaction in the head section, stereochemistry and rotational rigidity in the middle section, and optimal alkyl chain length in the tail section are important factors for the enhancement of LasR-binding affinity and for the inhibition of biofilm formation. The most potent compound <B>41</B>, an analog of (<I>R</I>)-8-gingerol with restricted rotation, showed stronger LasR-binding affinity and inhibition of biofilm formation than the known LasR antagonist (<I>S</I>)-6-gingerol.
