The Master Gardener(MG) program is one of representative outreach program of cooperative extension at land grant Universities in U.S.A. The purpose of MG programs are primarily focused on educating community and people who want to join gardening project. MGs are valuable resources as volunteer-educators teaching environmental horticulture, increasing life quality through horticulture, community landscaping, school gardening, nutrition problems and horticultural therapy for the common-wealth or benefit of their community. MG educational programs and volunteer internships are needed to get and maintain MG title and they follow the policies and philosophies of cooperative extension. MG programs present lots of benefits by enlarge boundaries of horticulture and offer the practical educational services. To extend and activate further the value of horticulture, the MG programs should be introduced in Korea soon. MGs are regarded as new managers or primary leaders for educating horticulture, landscaping for community because of their knowledge and eagerness to help the people's advancement.

Two polymorphic loci, so- called FS106 and FS185, have been isolated from the human genome, using a multilocus probe pV47-2, which is extensively used in Korea for forensic investigation such as resolving paternity disputes. Among the several plaques selected from λ Fix-II genomic libraries, fourteen clones have been characterized. Restriction maps of 14 clones were constructed to define the flanking as well as repeat parts. The repeat-free flanking DNA fragments were tested for single locus specific polymorphism, and repeat containing DNA fragments were sequenced for the design of PCR primers. None of the repeat-free flanking DNA fragments was not shown any polymorphisms by RFLP analysis. The (GGT)??-rich sequences in most of repeat containing DNA fragments were identified by sequencing analysis. Most of repetitive sequences consists of major units of (GGT)??, but a regular repetition pattern can not be found in all clones. Two sets of primers designed from flanking sequences of repeat containing DNA fragments were shown length polymorphisms by PCR analysis, when tested in 50 unrelated individuals. Three and four alleles were detected at FS106 and 0.58 for FS185. In addition, two loci, FS106 and FS185, have been mapped on chromosome 5 and 3, respectively, by somatic cell hybrid analysis.

This paper presents a back-end system of hypermedia authoring system for courseware development. For the design, repersentative hypertext reference models, the Dexter model and the HAM(Hypertext Abstract Machine) which belongs to Campbell & Goodman model were analyzed. Based on those models, data objects, attributes, and operations of back-end system were designed and implemented. Because the application area of this system is on computer based education, the path mechanism is enforced for the various educational strategies. In order to reduce the user disorientation and cognitive overheads in navigating hypernetwork, filtering, backtracking and history mechanism were implemented.
Extranodal Interdigitating Dendritic Cell Sarcoma Presenting in the Pleura: A Case Report
Han, Hye-Suk,Lee, Ok-Jun,Lim, Sung-nam,An, Jin Young,Lee, Ki Man,Choe, Kang Hyeon,Lee, Ki Hyeong,Kim, Seung Taik The Korean Academy of Medical Sciences 2011 JOURNAL OF KOREAN MEDICAL SCIENCE Vol.26 No.2

Interdigitating dendritic cell sarcoma (IDCS) is an extremely rare neoplasm arising from the antigen-presenting cells of the immune system. This disease usually involves the lymph nodes, and rarely, extranodal sites may be affected. The authors report a case of extranodal IDCS presenting in the pleura. A 32-yr-old man presented with progressive chest pain. Imaging studies showed diffuse pleural thickening with pleural effusion. Morphological and immunohistochemical analysis of an incisional biopsy of the pleura were consistent with a diagnosis of IDCS; tumor cells were positive for S100 and CD45, but negative for CD1a, CD21, CD35, B cell and T cell markers. The patient was administered chemotherapy, but died of progressive disease. Although its incidence is extremely rare, this case suggests that extranodal IDCS should be considered in the differential diagnosis of undifferentiated neoplasms and that immunohistochemical staining be performed using appropriate markers.
