Elucidate Genetic Diversity and Population Structure of Bread Wheat (Triticum Aestivum L.) Cultivars Using IRAP and REMAP Markers

        Hossein Abbasi Holasou,Frough Rahmati,Fatemeh Rahmani,Mahdi Imani,Zoleikha Talebzadeh 한국작물학회 2019 Journal of crop science and biotechnology Vol.22 No.2

Analysis of genetic diversity and population structure in bread wheat is an essential step in their conservation, utilization, and breeding. Retrotransposons are ubiquitous and abundant a throughout the plant genomes, therefore extensively used as ideal molecular markers for genetic variability, DNA fingerprinting and genetic mapping studies in plant species. In the current research, we used two retrotransposon-based marker systems, inter-retrotransposon amplified polymorphisms (IRAPs), and the retrotransposon-microsatellite amplified polymorphisms (REMAPs) markers to evaluate the genetic diversity and survey activity of long terminal repeat retrotransposon (LTR-retrotransposon) elements in a collection of 49 bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivars that mainly bred in Iran. In general, 90 and 126 loci were amplified using 9 IRAP and 20 REMAP primers, respectively. Both techniques produced a satisfactory number of bands for cultivar analysis; however, the technique IRAP, particularly single primer Nikita generated a large number of bands, indicating the wide activity of Nikita family under various environmental conditions of bread wheat. The percentage of polymorphic loci (PPL) in the studied collection for IRAP and REMAP markers was 81.78 and 86.40%, respectively. A model-based Bayesian method, Principal coordinate analysis (PCoA) and cluster analysis using Minimum Evolution (ME) algorithm hinted of the existence of two groups. This grouping was in agreement with the growing season and conformed by the high within-group bootstrap value. These results demonstrated that these markers developed using transpositionally active retrotransposons (RTNs) are efficient and reliable markers in determining level of genetic diversity and population structure in bread wheat in breeding programs.

The Lack of Association between Plant-Based Dietary Pattern and Breast Cancer: a Hospital-Based Case-Control Study

( Nastaran Payandeh ),( Hossein Shahinfar ),( Mohammad Reza Amini ),( Alireza Jafari ),( Maryam Safabakhsh ),( Hossein Imani ),( Sakineh Shab-bidar ) 한국임상영양학회 2021 Clinical Nutrition Research Vol.10 No.2

Our purpose was to assess the association between plant-based dietary patterns and breast cancer (BrCa) among Iranian women. This hospital-based case-control study included 150 newly diagnosed BrCa cases and 150 age-matched controls from the Cancer Research Center, Imam Khomeini hospital, Iran. Three indices of a plant-based diet were first calculated: plant-based diet index (PDI), the healthy PDI (hPDI), and the unhealthy PDI (uPDI). In the overall PDI, all plant foods scored positively. In hPDI and uPDI, healthy and less healthy plant foods scored positive, respectively. The adjusted odds ratio (OR) in the highest adherence of PDI was 1.00 (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.55-1.83). In hPDI, 0.89 (95% CI, 0.49-1.62); in uPDI, 1.80 (95% CI, 0.95-3.42). The adjusted OR after subgroup analysis for body mass index (BMI) was as follow, BMI > 25: 0.77(95% CI, 0.37-1.61) comparing highest with the lowest tertile of PDI, 0.91(95% CI, 0.44-1.89) comparing highest with the lowest tertile of hPDI and this value for uPDI was 2.04 (95% CI, 0.91-4.56). BMI < 25: OR for top tertile of PDI was 1.82 (95% CI, 0.48-6.93), top tertile of hPDI was 1.47 (95% CI, 0.35-6.22) and top tertile of uPDI was 2.29 (95% CI, 0.54-9.70). Our results revealed no significant association between none of the PDIs and the chance of BrCa in Iranian women. Continued and expanded research, evaluated by different methods and BrCa is urgently needed to build the foundation for future progress in evidence-based public health efforts.

      • SCFs in offshore two-planar tubular TT-joints reinforced with internal ring stiffeners

        Ahmadi, Hamid,Imani, Hossein Techno-Press 2022 Ocean systems engineering Vol.12 No.1

The majority of tubular joints commonly found in offshore jacket structures are multi-planar. Investigating the effect of loaded out-of-plane braces on the values of the stress concentration factor (SCF) in offshore tubular joints has been the objective of numerous research works. However, due to the diversity of joint types and loading conditions, a number of quite important cases still exist that have not been studied thoroughly. Among them are internally ring-stiffened two-planar TT-joints subjected to axial loading. In the present research, data extracted from the stress analysis of 243 finite element (FE) models, verified against available numerical and experimental data, was used to study the effects of geometrical parameters on the chord-side SCFs in two-planar tubular TT-joints reinforced with internal ring stiffeners subjected to two types of axial loading. Parametric FE study was followed by a set of nonlinear regression analyses to develop six new SCF parametric equations for the fatigue analysis and design of axially-loaded two-planar TT-joints reinforced with internal ring stiffeners.

      • A Comparative Study of Capability Poverty Status In Iranian Hotel and Hospital Service Sectors

        Manouchehr Jahanian,Mohammad Hossein,Imani Khoshkhou,Ebtehal zandi 세계문화관광학회 2011 Conference Proceedings Vol.12 No.-

Capability poverty which assesses individuals' privileges was first introduced by Amarty a Sen in mid 1980s. This approach focuses mainly on developing human potentials and acquiring the ability to lead an honorable life. Therefore having access to proper nutrition and housing as well as health and education services being involved in decision making and maintaining dignity have been highlighted in capability poverty approach. In this approach poverty doesn't mean having no income however it is defined as being deprived of individual and social capabilities the solution of which lies in developing such human competence. Consequently the followers of this approach evaluate poverty using human and social indices. This Article aims to compare various aspects of human development among employees of hotel and hospital sectors of Tehran in o rder to investigate capability poverty status and propose suggestions to improve the different aspects of human development and consequently reduce capability poverty. To this end Inglehart et al.'s perspectives on human development aspects and indices have been used as the theoretical basis of the study. To conduct this survey questionnaires have been given out among 200 employees of similar service sectors of hotels and hospitals who have been chose via multi-stage sampling method in 2010.The findings of this study demonstrate that employees of hotels service sectors gained a higher score in the studied aspects of human development _indicating capability poverty status comparing to those who work in the similar service sectors of hospitals and benefited from a better position concerning capability poverty.
