        초등학교 과학교실 및 과학동아리 관련 현장 조사 및 프로그램 개발 모형 설정

        본 연구의 목적은 과학 교실 및 과학반, 과학동아리 활동과 관련하여 일선 학교 현장에서는 어떤 문제점을 갖고 있으며 어떤 요구가 있는지 조사연구를 통해 알아보고 그 결과를 바탕으로 활동 프로그램을 개발하기 위한 개발 모형을 제시하는 것이었다. 146개 초등학교의 과학 관련 교사를 대상으로 설문 조사하였으며 조사결과, 교사들은 다양한 문제점과 해결 덜'간을 제시하였는데 다음과 같은 시사점을 얻을 수 있었다. 첫째, 다양한 과학 활동에 대한 행·재정적 지원이 절실히 필요하다. 둘째, 과학비전공 교사도 쉽게 다룰 수 있는 활동 프로그램의 제공이 필요하다. 셋째, 재미있는 활동으로 구성된 프로그램이 있어야 한다. 넷째, 프로그램은 준비가 용이한 활동으로 이루어져야 한다. 다섯째, 탐구 활동 중심의 평가 방법이 제시되어야 한다. 이러한 조사 결과를 바탕으로, 교사, 학생, 운영 환경을 축으로 하는 프로그램 개발 맥락을 설정하고 주제 설정, 활동구성, 차시구성, 활동지 구성, 교사용 지침서 구성의 단계로 이루어진 개발 모형을 제안하였다. The purpose of this study was to investigate the needs of elementary school teachers on extra-science programs and to suggest development model for extra-science program. Survey research was conducted on 146 science-related teachers all over the country. As the result, teachers presented several problems and solutions on extra-science activities and programs. The suggestions from the results are as follows. First, more administrative and financial supports are required. Second, it must be the programs with which any teachers, regardless of their major fields, can execute easily. Third, the programs should be interesting for students to do. Fourth, it should be easy to prepare activities and materials, Finally, the inquiry-focused assessment method should be presented in each program. Based on these suggestions, the context of development of programs was established. Three axises of, students, teachers, and environment, were included in the context. The model of development of programs was set up based on the context. It was constructed with six process steps, Confirmation of theme, Composition of work frame, Organization of each period, Worksheets for students, Guidebook for teachers, Completion, and one or two assessment criteria in each process steps. It must be useful to development of extra-science programs that is appropriate to the need of teachers.

        한국인에서 당화혈색소를 통한 당뇨병 진단의 적절성 평가

        Objectives: An HbA1c test result ≥ 6.5% has recently been recommended as the defining criterion for diabetes by the American Diabetes Association (ADA). The aim of the study was to assess the screening test properties of HbA1c for undiagnosed diabetes mellitus (DM) according to the ADA criteria. Methods: Oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) and HbA1c were performed among 163 subjects without previously diagnosed diabetes at Haenam General Hospital, Korea between January, 2005 and June, 2010. The OGTT is considered to be the gold standard for diagnosing diabetes. Based on a ROC curve, optimal sensitivity and specificity were derived for identifying the HbA1c threshold. The level of agreement (ĸ statistics) between OGTT and HbA1c were calculated. Results: The prevalence of pre-diabetes and diabetes were 27.6% and 56.4%. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve for undiagnosed DM was low in HbA1c (0.814 [95% CI: 0.750-0.879]) compared to fasting plasma glucose (0.924 [0.884-0.964]) and 2-h plasma glucose (0.924 [0.884-0.964]). HbA1c of 6.5% gave a sensitivity of 70.7%, a specificity of 76.1%. The level of agreement between two diagnostic criteria was low (ĸ = 0.448). Conclusion: The findings in this study demonstrate that the discordance between the OGTT and HbA1c criteria in the diagnosis of diabetes in some Koreans is large. The measurement of HbA1c alone may be inefficient to screen undiagnosed DM. Further large-scale, population-based studies are needed to evaluate the HbA1c threshold for diagnosing diabetes in Korea.

        Figures of Merit of (K,Na,Li)(Nb,Ta)O<sub>3</sub> Ceramics with Various Li Contents for a Piezoelectric Energy Harvester

        The figures of merit in the on-resonance and off-resonance conditions ($FOM_{on}$ and $FOM_{off}$) for the piezoelectric energy harvester (PEH) were measured and compared in $[(K_{0.485}Na_{0.515})_{1-X}Li_X](Nb_{0.99}Ta_{0.01})O_3$ (x = 0.04 ~ 0.09) (KNLNT) ceramics with various Li contents. The crystal structure of CuO-doped KNLNT ceramics changes from orthorhombic to tetragonal around the Li fraction of 0.065. The stable temperature range for the tetragonal phase widens to both higher and lower temperatures as Li is substituted. The piezoelectric charge constant ($d_{33}$), electromechanical coupling factor ($k_p$) and mechanical quality factor ($Q_m$) have maximum values at the Li fraction between 0.055 and 0.065 where the phase boundary lies between the orthorhombic and tetragonal phases. Both $FOM_{on}$ and $FOM_{off}$ have peak values around the phase boundary but the peak compositions are not exactly coincided. The optimal Li fraction in the KNLNT ceramic for a PEH application was found to be between 0.055 and 0.065.

        응급환자와 비응급으로 분류된 환자간의 진료비 비교분석

        Purpose: To report the distribution of emergency department costs by category of expense and level of patient urgency. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the cases of 36,329 patients who visited the emergency department of Pundang CHA hospital during the recent l year. the patients were divided into two groups : urgent group and non urgent group. Physician, facility, supply, pharmacy, laboratory, and radiology costs were considered. Results: The average costs were urgent visits, W96,124; noriurgent visits, W87,028. For all patients, the average costs were radiology, 29%; facility, 26%; laboratory, 21%; physician, 12%; pharmacy, 8%; supply, 4%. Conclusion: The distribution of ED costs were similiar to regardless of the urgency of the medical condition. Overall improved cost efficiency can be achieved through reductions in the Variable costs of ED.

        Phylogenetic Analysis of Mycobacterium sp. C2-3 Degrading Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons

        Mycobacterium sp. C2-3 was isolated from petroleum contaminated soil around an oil reservoir and identified by analysis of its 16S rRNA gene sequence, Strain C2-3 was able to use fluorene, phenan-threne, fluorathene and pyene as sole sources of carbon and energy, yet unable to geagrade naph-thalene, The strain was also able to use n-alkanes, such as hexadecane and heptadecane, and phenanthrene and pyrene, in particular, were degraded rapidly,. The phylogenetic data suggested that the isolate C2-3 is a thermosensitive, fast-growin strain of Mycobacterium sp.

        허혈성 뇌부종으로 인한 뇌 Energy 대사변화에 대한 Methylprednisolone의 효과

        The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of methylprednisolone(M.P.) on the alterations of ATP, sum of adenosine nucleotides, adenylate energy charge (E.G.), glucose and lactate in the cats with acute focal ischemic cerebral edema. The acute occlusion of left middle cerebral artery (MCA) of forty cats for 1, 3 and 5 hours respectively were accomplished by applying Heifetz clip through the transorbital approach operating microscope. Twelve cats were not recirculated as a untreated group, twelve cats were recirculated for 2 hours as a recirculation group and twelve cats were recirculated for 2 hours and given M.P.(15㎎/㎏) at 30 minutes after occlusion initially, and then every one and a half hour as a treatment group. The experimental results are as follows. 1) In 1-hour untreated group, ATP was reduced to 34.0%, sum of adenosine nucleotides reduced to 72.2%, adenylate E.C. reduced to 60.6%, glucose reduced to 67.3% and lactate increased to 156.6% of the control value. In the recirculation group, ATP was reduced to 42.0%, sum of adenosine nucleotides reduced to 82.4%, adenylate E.C. reduced to 74.3%, glucose increased to 552.7% and lactate decreased to 79.8%. In the treatment group, ATP was increased to 143.9%, sum of adenosine nucleotides increased to 153.9%, adenylate E.C. decreased to 92.9%, glucose increased to 3334.5% and lactate decreased to 74.6%. 2) In 3-hour untreated group, ATP was decreased to 24.9%, sum of adenosine nucleotides reduced to 22.9%, adenylate E.C. reduced to 58.6%, glucose decreased to 45.5% and lactate increased to 161.3% of the control value. In the recirculation group, ATP reduced to 32.9%, sum of adenosine nucleotides reduced to 28.6%, adenylate E.C. reduced to 71.4%, glucose rose to 520.0% and lactate to 135.3% of the control value. In the treatment group, ATP reduced to 99.5%, sum of adenosine nucleotides increased to 103.5 %, adenylate E.C. decreased to 84.3 %, glucose rose to 1187.3% and lactate increased to 101.2%. 3) In 5-hour untreated group, ATP decreased to 5.3%, sum of adenosine nucleotides reduced to 9.0%, adenylate E.C. reduced to 58.6%, glucose decreased to 25.5% and lactate increased to 187.9%. In the recirculation group, ATP decreased to 4.4%, sum of adenosine nucleotides decreased to 5.8%, adenylate E.C. decreased to 57.1%. In the treatment group, ATP was reduced to 11.2%, sum of adenosine nucleotides and adenylate E.C. reduced to 70.0%, glucose rose to 103.6% and lactate to 157.2% of the control value. As the results shown above, the therapeutic beneficial effects of M.P. were observed in cats of 1 or 3-hour occlusion of MCA with 2-hour recirculation.

        Diabetic radiculoneuropathy is an uncommon complication of diabetes mellitus that can affect the cervical, thoracic, or lumbosacral nerve roots. When the thoracic nerve roots are affected, it can cause truncal pain and, more rarely, abdominal bulging. A 62-year-old man with diabetes developed sudden pain in his right abdomen with subsequent distention overlying the area for 10 days. Neither vesicular eruptions nor cutaneous scarring was noted. Imaging scans of the abdomen and spinal cord did not reveal any other causes of abdominal distention. Needle electromyography showed evidence of radiculoneuropathy in the right thoracic regions (T6 through T9), and nerve conduction study of the upper and lower extremities also showed evidence suggestive of severe distal symmetric polyneuropathy. With the exclusion of any apparent causes of abdominal distention, a diagnosis of diabetic radiculoneuropathy was made. (Korean J Dermatol 2020;58(10):697∼700)
