<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>In dry reforming of methane (DRM), coke deposition on the Ni-based catalyst is the main cause of instability of the process. Perovskite LaNiO<SUB>3</SUB> is a well-known highly active catalyst precursor for DRM, but the La-Ni catalyst derived from it is susceptible to severe coke deposition and thus difficult for practical applications. To improve its stability and activity, Co and Mn are introduced to develop a tri-metallic LaNi<SUB>0.34</SUB>Co<SUB>0.33</SUB>Mn<SUB>0.33</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> catalyst precursor. The role of Mn is to improve the stability of the catalyst, whereas Co is an additional active component to increase the reaction rates. A strong metal and support interaction mediated by MnO is noted in the tri-metallic catalyst, which contributes to a synergistic effect of the tri-metals to sustain the high activity and stability under the harsh conditions of DRM.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Perovskite LaNiO<SUB>3</SUB> was substituted with Co, Mn by a microwave-assisted Pechini method. </LI> <LI> Reduced LaNi<SUB>0.34</SUB>Co<SUB>0.33</SUB>Mn<SUB>0.33</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> showed improved DRM activity and stability. </LI> <LI> Mn improved the catalyst stability, whereas Co increased the reaction rates. </LI> <LI> MnO mediated a strong interaction between metallic sites and La<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> support. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>
페로몬 트랩 영상에서의 해충 검출을 위한 딥러닝 기반 객체 검출 알고리즘의 적용

솔껍질깍지벌레는 소나무에 피해를 입히는 산림 해충으로, 한국의 산림에 많은 환경적, 경제적인 손해를 미친다. 이러한 솔껍질깍지벌레의 발생을 감시하기 위해서 페로몬 트랩 기반의 방식들이 이용된다. 페로몬 트랩에 잡힌 해충의 수를 통하여 솔껍질깍지벌레의 발생 정도를 파악한다. 트랩에 잡힌 해충의 수는 주로 사람이 세는 방식으로 수행이 되어 왔는데, 이는 노동집약적이며 시간 소모적이고, 숙련자의 작업을 필요로 한다. 또한 세는 과정에서의 피로도와 작업자의 숙련도에 따라 오차가 발생하기도 한다. 이러한 수동 카운팅 방식이 아닌, 영상 기반의 자동 카운팅을 적용하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 딥러닝 기반의 객체 검출 모델들을 적용하여 트랩에 잡힌 솔껍질깍지벌레의 검출 알고리즘 개발을 목표로 하였다. 1.5mm~2mm 크기의 작은 해충인 솔껍질깍지벌레의 검출을 위하여 이미지 크라핑 방식을 사용하였으며, 크라핑 조건, 모델 종류, 인풋 종류 등의 조건을 조합하여 모델을 학습시키고 성능을 비교하였다.

<P><B>Objective: </B> To identify the most reliable predictor of the pathological stage among multiple parameters obtained by performing systematic biopsies and to assess the predictive value of any identified parameters in combination with the prostate specific antigen and the Gleason scores.</P><P><B>Methods: </B> We examined 5 biopsy parameters from 12 systematic needle biopsy results in 104 consecutive prostate cancer patients who underwent prostatectomy: the number of cores positive for cancer, percentage of positive biopsy cores, total linear cancer length (absolute sum of tumor length at each core), percentage cancer length (total cancer length divided by total length of cores obtained ×100), and maximum cancer core length. The predictive values of these parameters were assessed using multivariate logistic analysis and receiver operating characteristic analysis. We evaluated whether the most reliable biopsy parameter in combination with traditional variables show better predictability of the pathological stage than traditional variables alone by receiver operating characteristic analysis.</P><P><B>Results: </B> Of 104 patients, 85 (82.9%) had organ confined cancer and 19 (17.1%) showed extraprostatic extension. Of the five parameters examined, maximum cancer length was found to best predict pathological staging. Although insignificant, adding results of maximum cancer length to prostate specific antigen and Gleason scores improved predictability. Of 41 patients with a maximum cancer length of <0.9 cm, PSA of <16 ng/mL, and Gleason score of <7, none showed extraprostatic extension.</P><P><B>Conclusions: </B> The maximum cancer length was found to be the most reliable predictor of disease staging. The findings of a maximum cancer length of <0.9 cm, PSA of <16 ng/mL, and a Gleason score of <7 can suggest an organ‐confined disease.</P>
A Rare Case of Coronary Cameral Fistula from the Right Coronary Artery to the Left Ventricle

Coronary cameral fistulas are rare congenital or acquired anomalies that communicate the epicardial coronary artery with the cardiac chamber. These fistulas can cause myocardial ischemia, heart failure, arrhythmias, infective endocarditis, and may rupture. Most coronary artery fistulas arise from the right coronary artery (RCA) and terminate mostly in the right side of the heart. A cameral fistula to the left ventricle is an extremely rare condition. We report a case of a 40-year-old man who complained of atypical chest discomfort and was diagnosed with a coronary cameral fistula from the RCA to the left ventricle by transthoracic echocardiography and coronary angiography.
IGFBP5 mediates high glucose-induced cardiac fibroblast activation

<P>This study examined whether IGF-binding protein 5 (IGFBP5) is involved in the high glucose-induced deteriorating effects in cardiac cells. Cardiac fibroblasts and cardiomyocytes were isolated from the hearts of 1- to 3-day-old Sprague Dawley rats. Treatment of fibroblasts with 25 mM glucose increased the number of cells and the mRNA levels of collagen III, matrix metalloproteinase 2 (<I>MMP</I><I>2</I>), and <I>MMP9</I>. High glucose increased ERK1/2 activity, and the ERK1/2 inhibitor PD98059 suppressed high glucose-mediated fibroblast proliferation and increased collagen III mRNA levels. Whereas high glucose increased both mRNA and protein levels of IGFBP5 in fibroblasts, high glucose did not affect IGFBP5 protein levels in cardiomyocytes. The high glucose-induced increase in IGFBP5 protein levels was inhibited by PD98059 in fibroblasts. While recombinant IGFBP5 increased ERK phosphorylation, cell proliferation, and the mRNA levels of collagen III, <I>MMP2</I>, and <I>MMP9</I> in fibroblasts, IGFBP5 increased c-Jun N-terminal kinase phosphorylation and induced apoptosis in cardiomyocytes. The knockdown of IGFBP5 inhibited high glucose-induced cell proliferation and collagen III mRNA levels in fibroblasts. Although high glucose increased IGF1 levels, IGF1 did not increase IGFBP5 levels in fibroblasts. The hearts of Otsuka Long-Evans Tokushima Fatty rats and the cardiac fibroblasts of streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats showed increased IGFBP5 expression. These results suggest that IGFBP5 mediates high glucose-induced profibrotic effects in cardiac fibroblasts.</P>

SIRT1, a member of the mammalian sirtuin family, is a nicotinamide adenosine dinucleotide (NAD)-dependent deacetylase with key roles in aging-related diseases and cellular senescence. However, the mechanism by which SIRT1 protein homeostasis is controlled under senescent conditions remains elusive. Here, we revealed that SIRT1 protein is significantly downregulated due to ubiquitin-mediated proteasomal degradation during stress-induced premature senescence (SIPS) and that SIRT1 physically associates with anaphase-promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C), a multisubunit E3 ubiquitin ligase. Ubiquitin-dependent SIRT1 degradation is stimulated by the APC/C coactivator Cdh1 and not by the coactivator Cdc20. We found that Cdh1 depletion impaired the SIPS-promoted downregulation of SIRT1 expression and reduced cellular senescence, likely through SIRT1-driven p53 inactivation. In contrast, AROS, a SIRT1 activator, reversed the SIRT1 degradation induced by diverse stressors and antagonized Cdh1 function through competitive interactions with SIRT1. Furthermore, our data indicate opposite roles for Cdh1 and AROS in the epigenetic regulation of the senescence-associated secretory phenotype genes IL-6 and IL-8. Finally, we demonstrated that pinosylvin restores downregulated AROS (and SIRT1) expression levels in bleomycin-induced mouse pulmonary senescent tissue while repressing bleomycin-promoted Cdh1 expression. Overall, our study provides the first evidence of the reciprocal regulation of SIRT1 stability by APC/C-Cdh1 and AROS during stress-induced premature senescence, and our findings suggest pinosylvin as a potential senolytic agent for pulmonary fibrosis.

This paper describes design, fabrication, and application of the silicon based temperature controllable micro reactor. In order to achieve fast temperature variation and low energy consumption, reaction chamber of the micro reactor was thermally isolated by etching the highly conductive silicon around the reaction chamber. Compared with the model not having thermally isolated structure, the thermally isolated micro reactor showed enhanced thermal performances such as fast temperature variation and low energy consumption. The performance enhancements of the micro reactor due to etched holes were verified by thermal experiment and numerical analysis. Regarding to 42 percents reduction of the thermal mass achieved by the etched holes, approximately 4 times faster thermal variation and 5 times smaller energy consumption were acquired. The total size of the fabricated micro reactor was $37{\times}30{\times}1mm^{3}$. Microchannel and reaction chamber were formed on the silicon substrate. The openings of channel and chamber were covered by the glass substrate. The Pt electrodes for heater and sensor are fabricated on the backside of silicon substrate below the reaction chamber. The dimension of channel cross section was $200{\times}100{\mu}m^{2}$. The volume of reaction chamber was $4{\mu}l$. The temperature of the micro reactor was controlled and measured simultaneously with NI DAQ PCI-MIO-16E-l board and LabVIEW program. Finally, the fabricated micro reactor and the temperature control system were applied to the thermal denaturation and the trypsin digestion of protein. BSA(bovine serum albumin) was chosen for the test sample. It was successfully shown that BSA was successfully denatured at $75^{\circ}C$ for 1 min and digested by trypsin at $37^{\circ}C$ for 10 min.
