        Background : In recent years, gonorrhea has been pandemic and remains one of the most common STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. Objective & Methods : For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of PPNG, we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the Venereal Disease Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by means of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. Results : In 1997. 99 strains of N. gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 45(45.5%) were PPNG. Conclusion : The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul, which had been decreased to 39% in 1996 after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, is increased to 45.5% in 1997.

      • 위성 채널을 통한 DS-BPSK 신호의 전송 특성

        Uplink와 downlink 가우스성 잡음이 존재하는 존재하에서 비선형 위성 트랜스폰더(transponder)를 통과하는 DS-BPSK(Direct Sequence-Binary Phase Shift Keying)신호의 오율식을 구했다. 위성 트랜스폰더의 TWT(traveling wave tube)전력 증폭기의 비선형 특성은 이상적인 하드리미터(hard limiter)로 모델링하였다. 구해진 오율식에 의해 컴퓨터 계산을 행하고, 그 결과를 반송파 대 uplink잡음전력비(uplink CNR), 반송파 대 downlink잡음 전력비(downlink CNR) 및 확산 스펙트럼의 처리 이득을 파라미터로 하여 그래프로 나타내고 선형시스템의 경우와 비교ㆍ분석했다. 그 결과 uplink CNR 이 O[dB] 이상일 경우는 비선형시스템이 선형시스템에 비해 downlink CNR 면에서 0.4[dB] 정도의 이득이 있었고, 선형시스템에 대한 비선형시스템의 개선도에 있어서 처리 이득은 그다지 영향을 미치지 못함을 알 수 있었다. The error rate equation of DS-BPSK(Direct Sequence-Binary Phase Shift Keying) signal transmitted through the nonlinear satellite transponder has been derived in the up link and downlink Gaussian noise environment. The nonlinearity of TWT(traveling wave tube) in satellite transponder is modeled as an ideal hard limiter. The numerical results of the derived equations have been shown in figures in terms of carrier to uplink noise power ratio(uplink CNR), carrier to downlink noise power ratio(downlink CNR) and process gain, and compared with those of the linear system. In the analysis, we have known that when the uplink CNR is below -5[dB] the hard-limited system degrades the error rate performance compared with the linear system, however, when the uplink CNR is above O[dB] the hard-limited system can gain 0.4[dB] improvement in downlink CNR to maintain a fixed error rate Pe=10(??) compared with the linear system. Even though the process gain can improve the error rate performance of both systems-the hard-limited system and the linear system, it does not affect seriously the improvements of the hard-limite system performance over the linear system performance.

      • CuBr 반도체 양자구슬 석출에 대한 연구

        The precipitation condition of quantum dots has been investigated for CuBr doped aluminob-orosilicate glass by changing the composition of glasses. The prepared glasses was annealed at various temperatures. The precipitation of CuBr quantum dots were affected by Na₂O mol% ratio in glass composition. The proper Na₂O mol% was 5-13 mol%. That is, the alkali f-raction for precipitation of quantum dots was 0.1- 0.2. The absorption spectrum of prepared CuBr quantum dots was examined at 77K and 13K.

        서울시 토양 중 다환방향족탄화수소의 농도특성에 관한 연구

        Soil is one of the most fundamental elements as well as with water and air in studies associated with the environment, in addition. it is one of the important environmental mediums that constructs a basis of the biological system and performs various roles of matter circulation. This study was carried out in Seoul, in May 2000 to evaluate variation in the concentration levels and distribution characteristics for PAH compounds in soil. Soil samples were collected from 33 sites covering traffic, factory, incineration and mountain groups and the PAHs were analyzed. The results show a wide distribution range of PAHs concentrations between 14.66 ng/g and 1,219.35 ng/g. The highest concentration levels exist at Sungsu-2 of the factory group (FS-2). Daemo-3 of the Mountain group (MD-3) presents the lowest levels as compared with the other sites. PAH compounds including mutagenic and carcinogenic materials show high concentrations in the traffic and factory groups and a high ratio in the mountain group. Besides, these compounds absorbed with micro particles might be spread out over a wide region associated with particles' movement and diffusion. After principal component analysis of the soil samples, the results indicated that the sources of PAHs in the soil were divided into two groups, pesticides and vehicles.

        The real estate brokarage system usually keeps step with the development of social system because it is closely connected with the society. But the real estate brokarage system of our country is different from it. Only the real estate brokerage system is behind the other similar industrial fields. It is the purpose of this thesis to suggest improvement program of real estate brokerage for its development. To begin with, I surveyed the basical matters and then, considered the ethics required to agents. I also studied the several real estate brokerage system of American and Japan, along with advenced countries in Europe, for the purpose of comparative analysis in order to fix real estate brokerage corresponds to given social condition. I have selected and examined a few problems of the brokerage system which prevents real estate brokerage from developing. And then, proposed improvement program. The government should understand the importance of the real estate circulation system on the policy and the problems of the brokerage system with modesty to improve it without a moment, s delay. It will be the desirable method to eliminate the agent, s dissatisfaction and to make the epoch-making turning point on the development of real estate policy.

      • ATM망에서 비실시간 서비스를 위한 효율적 셀 제어 기법

        The Guaranteed Frame Rate(GFR) service has been designed to accomodate non-real-time applications, such as TCP/IP based traffic in ATM networks. The GFR service not only guarantees a minimum throughput at the frame level, but also supports a fair share of available resources. In this paper, we propose a cell control algorithm which can improve the fairness and the throughput through the traffic control in GFR service. For the evaluation of a proposed scheme, we compare the proposed scheme with the existing scheme in the fairness and the throughput. Simulation results that the proposed scheme can improve the fairness and throughput than the existing scheme.

      • 자기포화흡수에 의한 비선형흡수계수 측정

        양자구슬에 구속된 엑시톤의 양자구속효과에 의해서 양자구슬의 선형 흡수스펙트럼은 청색전이를 일으킨다. 양자구슬을 포함하는 유리에 조사하는 광량이 증가하면 흡수단이 단파장 쪽으로 이동하며, 흡수율이 감소하는 비선형흡수 현상을 볼 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 평균반경이 3.4nm 인 양자구슬을 포함한 유리와 3.5nm와 4.4nm의 양자구슬을 동시에 갖고 있는 유리의 흡수율을 자기포화방법을 이용하여 400 - 411nm 범위에서 측정하였다. Z₁,₂absorption line of CuBr quantum dots was shifted toward the short wavelength region and the shifted energy was inversely proportional to the square of effect radius. If the input intensity increase, the absorption peak moves toward the short wavelength region and the absorption decrease. By the self saturation method, we measure the nonlinear absorption coefficient of aluminoborosilicate glass including CuBr quantum dots, the average redius is 3.4nm, 3.5nm, 4.4nm.

      • 탐구 학습과 STS 관점에서 본 5,6차 과학 교과서의 비교 분석 : 중학(Ⅰ) 교과서의 화학 영역을 중심으로 Reference to the Chemistry Field of Science Textbooks(Ⅰ) in the Middle School

        This study treats of the comparative analysis of the science textbooks in relation to the inquiry learning ability and STS viewpoint in order to offer some aids that help teaching/learning in class. The major findings of the study are summarized below. 1. The textbooks on the 6th curriculum contain more variety of inquiry process than those on the 5th, which makes students get interested in their learning and get the result of experiments without making experiments. 2. The pictures on the 6th rose 27 percent compared with 5th. It can help students reduce the burden of learning and understand science more easily. 3. The textbooks on the 6th are intended to develop a balanced and varied inquiry ability, while the textbooks on the 5th are rather biased to several items. 4. The textbooks on the 6th have more contents and pictures connected with everyday science than those on the 5th.

        치아회분과 석고혼합제재 매식후 Digital Subtraction Radiography에 의한 골량 변화의 평가

        Purpose : To assess the methods for the clinical evaluation of the longitudinal bone changes after implantation of tooth ash-plaster mixture into the defect area of human jaws. Materials and methods : Tooth ash-plaster mixtures were implanted into the defects of 8 human jaws. 48 intraoral radiograms taken with copper step wedge as reference at soon, 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 6th week after implantation on mixture were used. X-ray raking was standardized by using Rinn XCP device customized directly to the individual dentition with resin bite block. The images inputted by Quick scanner were digitized and analyzed by NIH image program. Cu-equivalent values were measured at the implanted sites from the periodic digital images. Analysis was performed by the bidirectional subtraction with color enhancement and the surface plot of resliced contiguous image. The obtained results by the two methods were compared with Cu-equivalent value changes. Results : The average determination coefficient of Cu-equivalent equations was 0.9988 and the coefficient of variation of measured Cu values ranged from 0.08∼0.10. The coefficient of variation of Cu-equivalent values measured at the areas of the mixture and the bone by the conversion equation ranged from 0.06∼0.09. The analyzed results by the bidirectional subtraction with color enhancement were coincident with the changes of Cu-equivalent values. The surface plot of the resliced contiguous image showed the three dimensional view of the longtudinal bone changes on one image and also coincident with Cu-equivalent value changes after implantation. Conclusion : The bidirectional subtraction with color enhancement and the surface plot of the resliced contiguous image was very effective and reasonable to analyze clinically and qualitatively the longitudinal bone change. These methods are expected to be applicable to the non-destructive test in other fields.(J Korean Oral Maxillofac Radiol 1999;29:423-434)
