드로잉의 Catharsis적 요소를 통한 심상 표현 연구 : 본인의 작품을 중심으로

본 논문은 내면의 심상과 몽환적 상황을 자동 기술적 드로잉으로 표현해 온 본인의 작품세계에 관하여 연구하고자 2000년부터 2002년까지 제작한 작품들 가운데, 학위 청구전에 발표되었던 작품을 중심으로 분석한 것이다. 오늘날, 현대인은 대중문화와 소비문화의 편리함을 누리면서 내면으로는 개개인의 무의식적 욕구로 인하여 정도의 차이는 있겠으나, 대체로 정서적 불안상태로 각자 단절된 삶을 영위하고 있는 것으로 보인다. 이러한 과정이 반복되다 보면 이중적 분열 양상은 현대인들에게 위기의식과 불안감을 고조시키는 요소가 되며, 이러한 경우 이율배반으로 이상향에 대한 동경과 위안을 희구하게 된다. 결과적으로 많은 현대인들은 육체가 아닌 정신적 고통에 의한 분열을 체험하게 되는 것 같다. 본인의 작품도 이따금 타인의 행위에 대한 의문과 함께 결국 자신의 내면의 상황 탐구에서 출발한 것임을 밝혀둔다. 본론에서 본인은 내적 정서불안을 카타르시스(Catharsis)적 요소로 활용한 제작 동기와 이와 관련되어진 '초현실주의와 환영', '신비주의와 창조성', '조형적 요소의 분석'에 대하여 고찰함으로써 치료적 의미, 주술적 의미를 살피고자 한다. 여기서 내적정서 불안과 카타르시스적 치유에 관하여는 프로이트(Sigmund Freud, 1856~1939)의 병리-심리학적 시각에 의한 현대인의 모순과 정신적 상황 분석을 인용 하였고, '초현실주의와 환영'은 미술사적으로 초현실주의에서의 자동 기술적 요소를 본인의 작품과 연계하여 생각해 보았다. 이와 더불어, '신비주의와 창조성'은 본인작품과 직접 연관은 없으나 당시의 세기말적 상황과 결합되어 대두된 신비주의 성향이 작품에 미친 정신적 요소의 공감되는 부분을 집중적으로 논구(論究)하였다. '조형적 요소의 고찰'에서는 본인이 작품에서 표현하고자 한 각 조형요소들: 선, 공간, 상징의 요소를 분석하고, 이미지의 상징성으로 이어지는 내용적 특징을 다룸으로써 이러한 특질이 본인의 "심상과 몽환적 환영"에 어떻게 적용되었는가를 스스로 점검하여 보았다. 이러한 분석적 방법들을 통하여 현대인의 우울증과 고통, 불안에 대한 개연성을 보여주는 화면을 설정하고자 하였다. 마지막으로 작품 분석에서는 각 작품의 제작 동기와 드로잉 작품의 각 사물이 지니고 있는 상징에 대하여 개괄적으로 설명하였고, 이론과 각 조형 요소들을 대입시켜 본인의 작품의 위상을 파악하고자 하였다. 결론적으로 본인은 현대사회 속에서 군중 심리적으로 느끼는 바를 현대인 공통의 언어로 표출하고자 하였다. 또한 이러한 과정이 본인에게는 내면의 불안정한 요소들을 치유하는 일종의 카타르시스가 된다고 생각하며 작업을 하였다. 본 논문의 주축인 무의식적 드로잉 작업을 분석, 정리한 이번 계기를 통하여 앞으로 연계될 후속 작업에 더욱 정진코자 한다. This study is the analysis of works exhibited on exhibition requesting degree among works made with the purpose of studying the world of performances expressing inner sound & fantastic situation for 2 years from 2000 to 2002. Though enjoying popular culture & consumption culture, today's people lives a separated lives in the situation of anxiety from unconscious desire of a person inwardly. In such a progress, double separation aspect is an element to promote modern people's crisis consciousness & anxieties and so contradictory, aspiration & comfort are demanded. Accordingly, today's many people seem to experience the separation prompted not by the physical but th mental. From time to time, writer's works begins with investigation of the inner world of self with questions about behaviors of others. In the subject, I tries to examine therapeutic & enchanting meaning by the means of classification of inner emotional anxiety into 4 elements, or production motive, surrealism & illusion, mysticism & creativity and analysis of formative language. Here in the chapter, or inner emotional anxiety & catharsis cure, views shown in Sigmund Freud(1856~1939) morbid-psychological question were analyzed. Surrealism & illusion were described in the connection with other works from the view of art history. In addition to this, mysticism & creativity have no connection with mysticism inclination emerged, combined with decadent situation discussed but in this chapter, commonly shared parts as mental element were chiefly and seriously investigated. Lastly, in the analysis of formative language, each formative element found in my works, line & space (formal elements) and image, symbol and text (features of content)were respectively analyzed to examine how sound & fantastic illusion are applied to such a feature. This study is to establish the screen to show probabilities of modern person's depression, pain & anxiety through this kind of analytic methods. In the analysis of works, the motive of each work & the symbol of each thing in drawings were explained to apprehend the phase of each work through substitution of theory & each formative element. In conclusion, writer tried to explain mental feelings of modern society with common language of modern people. writer worked with a thought that such a process is a kind of cure for inner unstable elements to me. I try to devote myself to the posterior that will be performed afterward through the analysis & arrangement of unconscious drawing works.
