        ISDN은 적은 비용으로 고속의 인터넷 서비스를 제공할 수 있으나 ISDN 서비스를 지원 하는 데는 몇 가지 제약이 있다. 첫째는 기존의 PSTN 교환기를 ISDN 교환기로 업그레이드 해야 하며 둘째는 데이터 서비스를 이용할 경우 장시간의 회선 점유로 인한 교환기의 과부하 현상이 발생 한다는 것이다. 이러한 문제점을 해결 하기 위하여 ISDN호출 분리시스템이 제안 되었다. 이 시스템은 교환기의 앞에서 데이터를 음성과 분리한다. 이 시스템은 음성호출을 받으면 기존 전화 신호의 형태로 변환 하여 PSTN망으로 접속 시키며 인터넷 접속 호출을 받으면 패킷화 하여 ISP가 연결된 패킷망으로 접속 시켜준다. 따라서 업그레이드 비용과 교환기의 과부하를 줄이게 된다. 본 논문에서는 이 시스템을 위한 소프트웨어 구조와 인터페이스를 제안 하였다. 이 소프트웨어는 세개의 모듈로 구성된다. 첫번째, 분리모듈은 ISDN Network Side의 3단계 계층구조를 가지고 있으며 음성과 데이터 호출을 분리한다. 또한 이 모듈은 새로운 호출 제어 메시지를 받아 변환 시켜 해당되는 망 인터페이스 모듈에 전달한다. 두번째, PSTN망 인터페이스 모듈은 음성 호출을 처리한다. 이 모듈은 호출 제어 메시지를 기존 전화 신호로 바꾸고 B채널과 PSTN음성 채널을 연결 시키는 기능을 한다. 세번째, 데이터망 인터페이스 모듈은 인터넷 접속 호출의 PPP데이터의 패킷화하여 Frame Relay망을 통하여 ISP에 보내는 기능을 가진다. 터널링 기능과 관리비용을 줄이기 위하여 L2TP를 사용 PPP패킷을 전달 하도록 하였다. 위 설계에 따라 ISDN호출에서 인터넷 접속 호출을 분리하는 시스템을 구현하였다. 분석을 통하여 시스템이 동작 가능하며 효과적으로 회선 자원을 활용함을 보여주었다. 또한 이 소프트웨어 설계는 모뎀과 xDSL 분리시스템으로 적용 할 수 있을 것이다. ISDN ,has been able to provide the higher Internet access speed in lower price. However it has some limitations to be serviced. First of all, network providers have to upgrade switch from PSTN to ISDN to provide connection. Another limitation is the long holding of a data call, which can overload the switch. To solve the above limitations of ISDN service, a segregation system of ISDN calls is proposed. It segregates data call from the voice call before it reaches the switch. If a voice call is received, it is converted into the traditional POTS format and directed to a PSTN network. If an Internet access call is received, it is packetized and directed to the packet network that connects to ISP. As a result, both the costly upgrade and the switch congestion problem can be solved. In this thesis, the structure and interface of the software in this segregation system is suggested. The software consists of three modules. First, the segregation module has the structure of ISDN network side with layerl-3, which discriminates the Internet access calls from voice calls, It also notifies, converts and transfers call control messages to each interface modules. Second, the PSTN network interface module handles voice calls. It converts call control messages to POTS signals and connects B-channel with PSTN voice channel. Third, the data network interface module is designed to packetize and to transmit the PPP packets of an Internet access call to a ISP through the frame relay network. For the purpose of generic tunneling service and economical management, L2TP is deployed as the transport protocol of PPP packet. Based on the above design, we implemented the system to segregate Internet access calls from ISDN calls. Evaluation shows that the system operates properly and has the efficiency to utilize resource of access line. Also the design of this software can be adaptable to segregation system of MODEM and xDSL.

      • ISDN 서비스 導入을 爲한 局間 信號方式 連動에 關한 硏究

        본 논문은 정보화사회의 통신서비스 수단인 ISDN(Integrated Service Digital Network)서비스 제공과 아울러 고도 통신서비스인 IN(Intelligent Network), PCS (Personal Communication Network)등에 필요한 CCS7(Common Channel Signaling System No.7) 신호방식중 ISUP(ISDN User Part) 프로토콜을 공중통신망에 도입 적용시 기존 신호방식과 연동성에 대해 연구하게 되었다. 국내에서는 '93년말부터 ISDN서비스 제공을 시작으로 2001년까지 단계적으로 확산될 것이며, 또한 통신망의 고도화를 위해 공중통신망에 CCS7 신호방식의 도입을 추진중이다. 이에따라 기존의 신호방식과 연동성이 필요하게 되었으며 현재 국내 통신망에는 R2신호방식, DC LOOP신호방식, EMD신호방식 등이 있으며 '94년 말이면 R2신호방식만 존속하게 되므로 ISUP/R2 신호방식간의 연동성 확보가 우선 되어야 하겠다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 국간 신호방식간의 연동성을 위주로 검증을 실시하였으며, ITU-TS(구 CCITT)의 권고사항과 국내기술 표준을 근거로 모델교환기를 이용 상응교환기에서와 유사한 실제 시험환경을 구축 검증을 실시하였다. 그 결과 불연동 사항이 많이 발생하여 공중통신망에 적용시 우선 해결되어야할 사항들을 제시하므로써 사항이 안정적인 ISUP의 도입을 도모하도록 하였다. This thesis is a study on the interworking of interoffice signaling system being used in the network how and ISUP(ISDN User Part) Protocol of CCS7(Common Channel Signaling System No.7) in order to confirm the adaptability for the network before it is implemented into the network. CCS7 in a new signaling system necessary to provide ISDN(Integrated Service Digital Network) service which is a means of telecommunication service in the information-intensive society, IN(Intelligent Network) service which is a highly developed telecommunication service, PCS(Personal Communication Network), and so on. In domestic, ISDN service began to be provided from late 1993 and would be developed nationwide gradually by 2001. And CCS7 signaling system is planed to be implimented into the public telecommunication network for the quality increasement of the existing network. So the confirmation of the interworking between the given signaling system and CCS7 Signaling System is inevitable. In the domestic telecommunication network, There are R2 signaling system, DC LOOP signaling system and EMD signaling system which are being used now. Late 1994, Only R2 signaling system of these will be in using. Therefore the interworking between ISUP and R2 above all is required to be confirned. Therefore this thesis is based on the validation test about the interworking between the interoffice signaling systems. This test was implemented under the condition of real telecommunication network which was composed of several Kinds of model exchanges. As a result of this test, Many problems was found out. Through the discussion on the solution for these problems, This thesis intends to make it easy to implement CCS7 signaling system into the domestic telecommunication network.

      • ISDN에서의 2B채널을 利用한 對話型 서비스 시스템에 關한 硏究

        Recently, the service of ISDN is newly considered to overcome the limit of existing telecommunication services and to provide the wider channel bandwidth. The basic concept of ISDN is digital network and integrated services which enables transmission and communication to work efficiently between end users. The ISDN services, however, can not provide multimedia communication combining the various media applications to end users until these days. Tlie existing ISDN senices using BRI is restricted to single 64kbps channel, but partly considered 2B services such as videoconference services in these days. It causes the lack of application services and the absence of network server. In order to overcome the lack of application services and the absence of network server, IMS(1nteractive Multimedia Service) and its system for the ISDN is proposed in this study.. The IMS system is an application service system, which was composed of service controller and its terminal for real time multimedia services. The IMS is designed to support interactive control and provide multimedia communications between service controller and users that provide 128kbps bandwidth on BRI. For the IMS realization, this study focused on three major research projects: that is, studies of (1) system engineering, (2) signaling procedure, and (3)system architecture. The major research parts are explained in more details as follows. (1) System engineering - analysis of multimedia services specification and N x B channel algorithm in ISDN - control functions for multimedia information - signaling of interactive service control - internetworking of service system on the ISDN - architecture of service controller as network server - architecture of terminal for multimedia service (2) Signaling procedure - call control procedure of BRI and PRI - signaling of 2B connection - switching of media data on B channel - control elements between service controller and terminal - procedural scheme of control messages (3) system architecture - fbnctional requirement of network interface - call control procedure between service controller and terminal - media control procedure between service controller and terminal - functional requirements of service controller - functional requirements of terminal - HCI requirement of service system Based on these studies, an IMS system was designed using the concepts, procedures, functions, and structure of the system explained above. Considering the design, an experimental model was implemented and tested with TDX- 1 B/ISDN to prove the applicability of the concept and the validity of the IMS . The experimental model of the IMS system was composed of a service controller and multimedia terminals. Several experimental results were given to prove the performance of proposed system. The test result obtained fiom the model have shown that the proposed concept is adequate. It was also verified that the proposed function and procedures of the service system were adequate for interactive multimedia services on the ISDN. In conclusion, the main proposes of this study is to demonstrate signaling and system architecture for interactive multimedia services using 2B channel on the ISDN. Also, the newly proposed multiparty connection service is considered to integrated in IMS system for the unification of service controller on the ISDN. IMS will become basic model for the fbture services of interactive multimedia service on the ISDN.

      • 멀티미디어 서비스를 위한 ISDN 단말기의 설계 및 구현

        ISDN(Intergrated Service Digital Network)은 과거 전화 위주의 단순한 음성 서비스 뿐만 아니라 데이타, 이미지, 동영상등을 포함하는 다양한 고품질의 서비스를 제공할 수 있다. 이러한 ISDN을 구현하는데 있어서 가장 중요한 부분은 가입자 접속 기능이며 사용자 입장에서는 ISDN을 구현하기 위해서는 다양한 응용 프로그램을 처리하기 위한 ISDN 인터페이스 보드뿐만 아니라 사용자에게 서비스를 제공하기 위한 ISDN용 단말기가 중요한 요소이다. 본 논문에서는 MS-Windows 환경에서 디바이스 드라이버(Device Driver)를 설계하여 ISDN 단말의 구현과 멀티미디어(Mulitmedia)서비스의 구성 요소중 하나인 다지점 영상회의(Multipoint Videoconferencing)를 위한 프로세서의 구조를 제안한다. ISDN 단말의 구현 방법으로 ISDN 통신을 위한 인터페이스 모듈로서 ITU-TS(International Telecommunication Union -Technical Subcommittee) I.430에 규정된 S-Interface Card를 제공하고 MS-Windows에서 이러한 인터페이스 모듈에 접속하기 위한 방법을 제안하여 제안된 방법중 하나인 디바이스 드라이버를 설계하여 ISDN 단말을 구현 하였다. 또한 MS-Windows에 적합한 디바이스 드라이버의 구현을 위하여 MS-Windows에서 제공되는 표준 서비스 루틴을 사용하였고 인터럽트의 사용을 위해 DPMI(Dos protected Mode Interface)기능을 사용하였다. 다지점 영상회의를 위한 프로세서의 구조는 MCS(Multipoint Control Section)를 이용한 스위칭 기법을 사용하여 설계하였다. ISDN can support a variety of high quality of services which includes data, images, and moving pictures as well as voice services in PSTN. When ISDN is implemented, the function of connecting to the network should be considered. For users, ISDN must provide ISDN interface boards which handle various applications, and ISDN terminals that provide services for users are very important element. In this paper we have (1) implemented a ISDN terminals using the Device Driver which was designed in the MS-Windows environment, and (2) proposed the architecture of processor for multipoint videoconferencing. The method of ISDN terminal implementation is that we provides S-interface card which observes ITU-TS(International Telecommunications Union-Technical Subcommittee) 1.430 as interface module to communicate with ISDN in IBM-PC. Further, in the MS-Windows environment this thesis suggests the Device Driver method, which is one of the methods to connect interface card, in order to interface module designed ISDN terminal. We use standard service routines in MS-Windows to implement Device Driver and a DPMI(Dos Protected Mode Interface) function for interrupt. The architecture of multipoint videoconferencing processor has been designed by a switching technique using MCS(Multipoint Control Section) to design multipoint videoconferencing processor.

      • B-ISDN에서 ATM을 응용한 광대역 네트워크 서비스에 관한 연구

        In this paper, Granulated Broadband Network(GBN) is proposed as Broadband Network Service for ATM application in B-ISDN. The GBN enable various types of service to be provided including 64 Kbps based service and broadband service. In the GBN, all information of existing and broadband service is transformed into ATM cells at subscriber line terminal or costumer or premise and is transferred through ATM network. Consequently , the cost feasibility of a single channel cell assembly/disassembly device(CLAD)is significant factor in providing ATM-based conventional service and interwove between STM and ATM networks. Once all information ATMized, the, the cost of transit networks is lower than STM networks. Because by adoption of mesh-type topology for a virtual path network, it is possible to eliminate extra-transit nodes and solve a low fill-rate inefficiency problem caused by a multistage multiplexing structure. In this paper, GBN Simulation results indicate the possibility of a more than 50% cost reduction in transit network.

      • ISDN X.25 Packet 端末整合裝置에 關한 硏究

        ISDN(Intergrated Service Digital Network) is coming true owing to the word wide effort and remarkably growing modern technology in communication, computer systems and custom design as well. ISDN is not revolutionally realized but evolutionally progressed from such exiting public networks as PSTN(Public Switched Telephone Network), PSDN(Packet Switched Data Network). In the course of ISDN evolution, various telecommunication equipments which help ISDN service be possible surely needed to be developed. The ISDN equipments can be globally categorized into two permises, network permises and user premises. The ISDN terminal adaptors (TA) are equipments in user perimises, which provide ISDN connections for conventional user terminals. It is especially indispensable in the beginning phase of ISDN realizations an intermediate solution until self-contained ISDN user terminals will have been fully provided. A plan connected S interface of an ISDN is designed a hardware and software by the foundation of the CCITT recommendation method in order to adaptor the X.25 packet terminal of as ISDN and then, it realized such a terminal adaptor equipment.
