        The stud on the Eating habit and late night sack of Daejeon university Joung huck-soon Dept. of Food and Nutrition Graduate School, Daejeon University (Directed by Prof. Koo Nan-Sook Ph.D.) Abstract The purpose of this study is to find out the usual and the late-night eating habits of university students according gender and housing types and to provide basic data for the desirable eating habits and late-night eating habits with the students. From June 10 2013 to June 11 2013, 450 questionaires were distributed and the retrieved 432 questionaires were processed with SPSS 21.0 statistical program, mainly statistically analyzed with χ2(Chi square) cross analysis. The results of the analysis is as follows. As for the types of the housing of subjects, 223 male students and 209 female students, 191 of them lives in their own home, 158 of them live apart form their family or live in their relatives', and 83 of them live in dormitories or boarding houses. 200,000 ~ 300,000 won for a month is the most common allowance. They can mark diseases on the questionaires as much as they have and 241 of them(50%) don't have any disease. 138 of them use computer for 1 ~ 2 hours a day. 132 of them get up at 7 ~ 8 o'clock in the morning. As for stress, grades cause stress most (28.9%) and meeting friends reduce stress most(27.7%). Their favorite exercise is walking(27.2%). As for whether they are satisfied with their own physique, there is meaningful difference in the question about their physique style (P<0.001), in the satisfaction level(P<0.001). Most of both male and female students aren't satisfied with their own physique but female students aren't more than male students. There is meaningful difference in weight control between genders(P<0.05) and both genders try to lose weight(P<0.001). There is no meaningful difference in the recognition of their own physique and weight control according to housing style. Taking snack at night, both genders usually have soda with it. As for alcohol, they drink soju and beer most. The frequency is 1~2 a week is most common and they drink alcohol near their university most. Though there is meaningful difference in they liquor type between genders(P<0.05), there isn't in housing type. Nor there isn't in the frequency of drinking according to genders and housing style. There is meaningful difference in where they drink between genders(P<0.05) and in housing style( P<0.001). Both students eat late-night snack at home 1~2 a week most and 50 % of them spend 10,000~20,000won. They eat snack before midnight most. There is meaningful difference in when they have snack between genders. So is there in the place according to housing style. As for the reason and the behavioral type of eating snack at night, they have snack at night because of hunger mainly. They usually eat late-night snack with 2~3 of their friends. There is meaningful difference in snack companions between genders(P<0.001) and there is in snack companions(P<0.001) and the number of the companions (P<0.05) according to housing style, too. Therefore, there is meaningful difference in life habit, eating habit, recognition of their own physique, and eating snack at night. Especially in eating snack at night. And a lot of university students eat snack at night these days. Students need to improve their eating habit, eat desirable snack not that late if they can't control appetite at night, and have desirable drinking culture when they drink alcohol with snack at night.
