        This study examined differences between Korea’s hairdresser certificate and other ones through preliminary studies, and found out that many of hairdresser conduct training after obtaining the certificate but most of them run their hair salons like those who don’t have certificates. To find out the reasons, this study looked into various theses and academic journals, but it was difficult to find appropriate preliminary theses. However, it found the thesis by Hong Do Hwa (2008) fitting. This study recognized that master hairdressers should pay attention to academic parts in addition to obtaining technical skills, and along with the systematic establishment of technical systems they should play an important role in education to activate the education market. This study aims to derive problems of hairdresser certificate system through surveys on master hairdressers. This study aims to analyze the difference before and after obtaining the certificate as master hairdresser through SPSS 18.00 and the participation rate of master hairdressers in overall education. According to the conclusions of this study, the hairdresser education should follow the following directions. The hairdresser certificate sets the bar for application low so that the connectivity to the field is deficient. Therefore, many hairdressers don’t have abilities to carry out tasks effectively. The analysis of the situation after obtaining the hairdresser certificate shows that most hairdressers received training in the field, in other words, while working in hair salons, so that additional education is necessary for 99% of them, and for the alternative plan, they were positive about the recreation of the industrial exam for hairdressers. And the environment where the systematic education can be conducted after obtaining the certificate needs to be established, and the industrial exam should be reestablished to categorize the certificate into class for standardizing skill levels needed in the field. And if applicants pass the second-grade certificate exam and the industrial exam is implemented, the application qualification to go to the next phase is allowed, which means that they can have education according to personal levels. In this way, the connectivity of education until obtaining the certificate for master hairdresser is established, people who pursue to become hairdresser can save money and are spared from difficulties in getting technical skills. We, researchers, hope that the grades of hairdresser certificates are established systematically like other certificate systems to help those who want to become hairdressers.
