동화(同化)의 경계로 바라 본 이안(李安)감독 문화 인식
문화의 다양성에 대한 포용적 관념은 문화콘텐츠 제작자의 필수 요건으로 문화교류가 세계적 추세가 된 오늘날에는 그 필요성이 더욱 부각된다. 감독 특유의 창작 스타일과 창작 경로 또한 문화에 대한 관심과 주목을 전제로 한다. 다문화 배경의 감독으로서 중국 문화의 융합적 특성은 이안 감독 특유의 창작 스타일 형성에 중요한 영향을 미쳤다. 이안 감독은 본인의 경험을 바탕으로 동·서양 문화의 충돌과 융합을 서사 주제로 한 작품을 다수 연출하며 삶의 외적인 모습을 생생하게 전달하였다. 한편으로는 문화에 대한 깊은 사색을 작품의 곳곳에서 드러내며 문화의 공유와 공존에 대한 일관된 입장을 밝히기도 하였다. 따라서 다문화 융합의 표상인 이안 감독의 영화 작품에 나타나는 문화적 함의를 분석하는 것은 연구의 가치가 분명하다. 본고는 이안 감독의 영화에 나타나는 문화현상에 주목한 연구로서 동·서양 문화에 입각한 이중적인 시각으로 문화연구과 영화이론연구 등 방법을 활용하여 작품을 해석하고자 하였다. 또한 중·서양의 장점을 결합하여 완벽한 영화를 창조하고자 했던 이안 감독의 창작 이념을 바탕으로 중서문화의 심층적 함의를 파악하였다. 나아가 이안 감독이 중서문화의 갈등 속에서 어떠한 방식으로 교류와 융합의 방안을 모색하였는지, 그리고 이안 감독의 영화가 중국의 영화 발전에 어떠한 영향을 미쳤는지를 고찰하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 본 연구는 다음과 같이 구성하였다. 우선 서론 부분에서는 연구의 배경과 목적을 살펴 연구의 필요성과 가능성을 확인하였으며 연구 현황과 선행 연구의 한계점을 살펴 연구의 방향을 모색하였고 현재 학계의이안 영화에 대한 연구를 재조명하고 보충하였다. 또한 중국과 서양이라는 다중적인 문화 경험이 그의 영화 창작에 어떠한 영향을 미쳤는지를 분석하였다. 더불어 연구 대상과 연구 방향에 적합한 연구 방법과 범위를 확정하고 연구 계획을 수립하였다. 논문 2장에서는 이안 감독과 영화 창작 과정 전반에 대한 논의를 전개하였고, 영화 창작의 다문화 배경을 밝혔다. 본 연구의 2장은 이론 지식 프레임이며, 주로 논문에서 분석에 활용한 문화인식론, 동화, 문화상호성의 3가지 이론에 대한 정의를 논술하였고, 이안 감독 영화와 결합하여 이 3가지 이론에 따라 연구를 전개하였다. 본 연구의 3장에서는 문화 연구의 관점을 토대로 이안 감독의 영화에 내재된 독특한 동양적 요소를 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 중국 전통가족문화의 특성, 젠더와 관련된 문화현상, 외유내도의 문화적 함축이라는 세 가지 측면에서 동양적 이미지의 특유미를 포착하고자 하였다. 논문 4장에서는 이안 감독의 영화에 나타난 중·서양 문화의 접촉과 갈등에 주목하였다. 접촉과 갈등 양상을 구체화하기 위해서는 가족 윤리문화의 갈등, 결혼 및 연애문화의 충돌, 중·서양 음식 문화의 차이에서 비롯된 양상을 고찰하였다. 논문 5장은 중·서양 문화의 이질성에 초점을 맞추어 이안 감독의 영화에 나타난 중·서양 문화 간의 충돌과 융합 양상을 구체적으로 분석하였다. 이를 위하여 중·서양 문화의 교합, 봉건적 예교 속박으로부터의 해탈 및 여성의식의 지각을 중심으로 논의를 전개하였다. 결론 부분에서는 앞선 논의를 바탕으로 이안 감독의 영화가 중국 영화에 미치는 영향을 세 가지 측면에서 분석하였다. 우선 중국 영화의 현대적 의식에 대한 영향으로는 현대 창작 이념을 수립하였고 현대 의식 제재의 표현과 현대 선행 의식을 이끌었다는 결과를 도출하였다. 한편, 중국 영화 민족화의 계승과 발전에 있어서는 동양 문화관념의 수립, 민족미학 표현형태의 계승과 발전, 민족화 특성의 정착 등 측면에서도 중요한 의의를 가짐을 확인할 수 있었다. 더불어 본 연구에서는 영화 창작은 삶과 예술의 관계를 심층적으로 파악해야 하고, 상업성과 예술성의 균형을 유지해야 하며, 협력 속에서 혁식을 추구해야 한다는 시사점을 도출할 수 있었고 이를 바탕으로 중국 영화의 운영에 참고 가능한 방향을 제시하였다. 본 연구는 중·서양 문화의 특징에 대한 분석을 바탕으로 교류와 융합의 측면에서 이안 감독의 영화에 내재된 문화적 의의를 분석하고 탐구하였다. 본 연구가 이안 감독 영화 연구에 대한 새로운 시야를 제시하는 논의가 될 수 있기를 기대한다. In the context of contemporary globalization, especially when cultural exchange has become a trend, multiple cultural concepts are an indispensable and important quality for a cultural product creator. Paying attention to culture can achieve a director with a unique creative style and give him a unique and charming creative path. As a cross-cultural film writer, Ang Lee's integrated temperament of traditional Chinese culture has formed his unique style of film creation. In Ang Lee's films, the conflict and fusion of Eastern and Western cultures constitute an important narrative theme of his film creation. Ang Lee was deeply influenced by traditional Chinese culture and received western ideological education. When showing the external appearance of life, he is not superficial, but full of personal feelings and experience. Therefore, his films are also permeated with deep thinking about culture. Ang Lee's films have become a model of multiple cultural integration. What’s more, the cultural significance conveyed in his films has an undoubted research value. This paper is based on the view of the eastern and western culture. The author takes the cultural phenomenon as the main line and makes a comprehensive interpretation of Ang Lee's film works by applying methods such as cultural studies and film theory studies, thus grasp the Chinese and western cultural connotation with in Ang lee’s works under the concept of "fusion of Chinese and western strength to create perfect films". Besides, the author further discusses how Ang Lee seeks the integration of Chinese and Western culture and how Ann lee's film creation influences the development of Chinese film. In the Introduction, the author analyzes the feasibility of the research from the research background and purpose and confirm the perspective of the research based on current situation and deficiencies of researches on Ann lee’s films, thus can make some reflection and supplement for researches on Ann lee’s films. In addition, the paper introduces Ang Lee and his film creation process as a whole, and expounds the influence of different Chinese and Western cultures on Ang Lee's film creation.Finally, the author discusses how to conduct the research and affirm the scope of research objects. Chapter 2 introduces the overall process of Ang Lee and Ang Lee's film creation. It also reveals the multicultural background of his creation and expounds the influence of different Chinese and Western cultures on Ang Lee's film creation. Besides ,the paper explains the influence of infiltration between Chinese and Western culture on Ang Lee's film creation.The second chapter is the framework of theoretical knowledge, which mainly expounds the definitions of the three theories of cultural cognition, assimilation and cultural interaction . And combined with the director Ang Lee film research on three theories. Chapter 3 explores the unique Oriental elements in Ang Lee's films from the perspective of cultural research. The purpose is to explore the unique beauty of Oriental images shown in Ang Lee's films from the following three aspects: the representation of traditional Chinese family culture, the cultural phenomenon of gender vision and the cultural implication of external Confucianism and inner Taoism respectively. Chapter 4 explains the phenomenon of cultural collision and conflict in Ang Lee's films from three aspects: the collision of family ethics and culture, the conflict in marriage and love culture, and the collision of Chinese and western food culture. Chapter 5 specifically analyzes the phenomenon of collision and integration between Chinese and Western cultures embodied in Ang Lee's films by deeply involving in the two heterogeneous cultures. The author focuses on three aspects: the exploration of the integration of Chinese and Western cultures, the transcendence of ethics and education, and the awakening of female consciousness. Based on the creation of Ang Lee film , Chapter 6 mainly analyzes the guidance of Ang Lee film creation on the modern consciousness of Chinese film, the inheritance and development of Chinese film nationalization, and the enlightenment of Ang Lee film creation on the development of Chinese film.
