용인경전철의 보행환경에 관한 연구 : 역사 진출입구의 보행환경과 이용객의 인식을 중심으로
There has been many researches on environmental friendly transportation methods due to the low-carbon green development issue concerning the climate change. Among the among these eco-friendly transportation policies and management systems in many countries including promotion of public transportation system, the 'Light Rail Transit' is one of the effective eco-friendly transportation system due to its environmental, social and economical advantages. In Korea, Light Rail Transit system has introduced as a public transportation promotion method in several local governments as a public transportation that overcome the systematic limitation of urban rails and bus transit, as well as economically feasible regarding the local administration budget. However, many of these light rail transit system in Korea including Yongin Light Rail and Uijeongbu Light Rail, is hardly suffering from the deficit and low demand, and now it became a social issues. In order to solve these deficit problem, these light rail operational organization and the local governments introduced transfer discount system, shuttle bus etc.; however, the demand is still not reaching the enough number. Therefore, among one of the problematic system in Korea, Yongin Light Rail will be focused on and in consideration of its an elevated viaduct formation, this research focuses on the pedestrian environment of Yongin Right Rail Transit. Through demand survey and detailed site investigation, Yongin Right Rail Transit's pedestrian environment to the station entrances and user's perception, and some barriers and problems are found in this research. In this research, among many different factors in pedestrian environment, amenity, various land use, scale, road connectivity, walking continuity, road safety and crime safety actually affect the users' perception. Therefore, in order to change this negative perception on the Yongin Light Rail transit to positive perception those seven (7) factors shall be considered in improving the pedestrian environment. In conclusion, the research shows that in order to solve the deficit of demand in Yoingin Light Rail transit system, the more efficient and connivence pedestrian environment is essential. 전 세계적으로 기후변화의 문제로 저탄소 녹색성장에 대한 이슈도 부각되면서 친환경 교통수단에 대한 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 이중 대중교통이용을 활성화 시키고 저탄소 교통수단으로서 각광받고 있는 경전철은 환경적, 사회적, 경제적으로 다방면에서 강점을 갖고 있는 대중교통 수단이다. 우리나라에서도 많은 도시철도나 버스 등의 한계를 극복할 수 있고 지자체 재정여건에 부합하는 교통수단으로 인정되어 많은 지방자치제에서 도입하여 도시민의 대중교통 이용 촉진 장려를 위해 노력 중 하나의 방법으로 인정받아 왔다. 하지만, 최근 용인 경전철에서는 이용객 부족으로 인한 극심한 적자 문제로 지역적인 문제를 벗어나 사회적인 문제로까지 확장되어 왔으며 이를 극복하기 위해 환승할인, 인근대학교 서틀버스 운영 등 많은 노력을 하고 있지만, 이용객 향상은 아직 미비한 수준에 머물고 있다. 본 연구에서는 경기도 용인경전철의 경우 고가를 이용하여 대로와 탄천을 따라 설치되었다는 점을 감안하여 보행환경에 관한 연구를 실시하였다. 설문조사 및 현장답사를 통한 현황분석을 통해 실제 용인경전철의 진출입구의 보행환경과 이용객의 인식을 중심으로 연구하였으며, 실제 보행환경의 문제점을 찾아볼 수 있었다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 어메니티, 토지이용의 다양성, 스케일, 보행연결성, 보행연속성, 교통안전, 범죄 안전의 다양한 요인분석을 통해 본 보행환경이 실제 경전철 이용과 이용자의 인식에 영향을 미치는 것으로 조사되었다. 용인 경전철의 이러한 부정적인 전망을 긍정적인 방향으로 되돌리기 위해서 이용객 증대는 필수적인 상황이며 위 7가지 보행행태 용인을 개선하여 용인경전철의 활성화 방안을 도출할 수 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 즉, 현재 경전철의 이용객 문제를 해결하기 위해 보행환경개선을 통해 주민들이 용인경전철 역사로의 보행 이동이 보다 합리적이고 편리한 방안을 모색해야 한다는 함의를 도출하였다
