Abstract
The purpose of research was to inquiry narratives on raising children experiences of 5 fathers in Vietnamese Marriage Migration Families. The participants were 5 Korean mans lived in Busan who have married Vietnamese women and were raising their children. The participants' narratives from personal interviews and focus interviews were analyzed qualitatively through N_Vivo 9 program.
As a result of the research, the experiences of raising children were summarized as follows.
First, the participants had serious problems of verbal communication and cultural differences with their Vietnamese wives. Therefore they experienced difficulties to raise their children and felt pressures on their complex roles for their family.
Second, the characteristics of fathers' experiences of raising children in multi-cultural families included two aspects - they resembles with experiences of raising children in families of late married man and double-income families.
Third, the participants worried about their economic competencies for caring and educating their children. So government policies should be more specific and realistic for multi-cultural families parenting support.
