秘書職 專門人力 養成을 위한 專門大學 敎育課程改善 方案 硏究 = (A) Study on Curriculum Development for Secretary Educatin in Junior College Level

Current technological advances and international trends toward golbalization demand more competent businessmen and professional secretaries. It is, thus, important to educate secretary majoring students to be equipped with quality professionalism in secretarial position. The purpose of this study was to survey current curriculum adopted in junior college secretary departments, and to suggest a desirable curriculum meeting various societal demands upon secretarial work. Specific problems in this study were (a) to clear the meaning of secretarial work and secretarial administrations, (b) to find out the needs that both currently employed secretaries and employers have, (c) to analyze current curriculum adopted, and (d) to suggest a desirable curriculum for secretary education in junior college level.
Both literature review and research were done to accomplish the purpose of this study. As the results of this study, following conclusions are obtained.
1. There is a need for more specific and specialized curriculum for secretary education in junior college level.
2. Newly employed secretaries seem to be in need of more information as well as better skills to meet job demands.
3. As criteria for employing secretaries, competency and qualification should have priority over personal appearance.
4. Profession-oriented curriculum, instead of task-oriented one, should be encouraged for secretary education in junior college.
5. Practice-oriented curriculum, instead of theory-oriented one, should be encouraged for secretary education in junior college.
6. The frist item with which secretaries are to be equipped for qualification are business etiquette, and organization skill, inter-personal relationships, common sense. office management, and secretarial pratice are included as for the secretarial qualification items.
