It is called that 21 century is the age of culture, media and information. The 21 century the students ourself will be an owner is an age of culture and art, it is a society that would be national power and competitive power substantially. So, a purpose of this study is like these; it searches preferableness how the art education will be developed in the future with change of recognition being suitable to modern society, not teaches knowledge and skill to students only.
We examined that an art of modernism and post-modernism have been the biggest turning-point, and Korean art and the history of art education was based for an education, to study in this chapter 3.
Existing post-modernism emphasizes big description focusing on custom made art, a man, the white man and the western that only some group of power has enjoyed, with conversion from modernism to post-modernism; impacts lots of to the expansion and change of art's concept. Due to this, post-modernism art has been separated, and features less descriptive, being undetermined, being multiple, paradox and mixture imitating contrary to an original post-modernism art. This post-modernism art can be considered as a concept; that is being whole tendency of art from conceptive art to being temporary.
The concept of art has been expanded through change of recognition to an art after post-modernism, impacting to an art and education in Korea. Our art and education also would be need; to upgrade thinking power about media material, exact comprehension to the tendency of temporary art and unification of each area in an art, this to combinate with an expansion and change of art's concept.
On the other hand, it is not yet attained to change of recognition to art-teaches art focusing on expression skill and unified education, being ingrained in art and education, adding to misunderstanding to temporary new concept of art. From this, it is still hard that our education of an art trains the citizen who are being suitable with 21 century.
We suggest new lecturing method; to be cultural citizen by studying actively, and to solve the problem has been in our art and education by aiding students express their desire without restriction, in the chapter 4 and 5.
For the art and education by the concept of art expanded, we have to solve bias that art subjects is being, adding to vary the teaching method with deviating from traditional method. Namely, it means that we have to educate to upgrade the skill of criticism to art and aesthetic with deviating from original art education, formal, to the preferable way for educating art. So, we have studied diversly to enjoy the art in our life by educating an art integrated, a visible cultural art and a multi cultural art. Therefore, it seems to be prepared to concrete practical plan for teaching art and education by expansion of art's concept, at the schools.
