현대사회에 있어 소통을 통한 미술관의 교육적 기능과 역할에 관한 연구 = The Educational Function and Role of Art Museum by Communication in Society Today

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 그간 연구되어온 미술관의 교육 기능에서 출발하여 미술관의 소통을 통한 교육적 기능와 역할에 연구의 초점을 맞추고자 한다. 우선적으로, 미술관이 사회전반에 걸쳐 논의되고 있는 역할과 사회적 가치에 대해 재고하고, 현대에 들어와 대두되고 있는 미술관과의 ‘소통’이라는 맥락을 통해 제기 될 수 있는 현대 미술관의 기대욕구를 도출할 수 있었다. 또한 오늘날 중점적으로 고찰 되는 미술관의 교육적 가치에 대해 연구하였고, 현재 수행하는 미술관 교육프로그램을 비롯한 교육 활동에 대해 조사하였다. 그 결과, 본 연구자는 소통을 통한 미술관 교육이 나아가야 할 방향을 다음과 같이 제시하게 되었다.
첫째, 미술관의 매개적 특성을 적극적으로 수용하여 현대적 미술관의 개념에서 더 나아가 미래지향적 미술관으로 발돋움 할 수 있는 계기를 마련하는 것이다. 미술관은 방문객과 소통할 수 있는 매개자이며, 다양한 서비스를 강화하면 홍보효과를 얻을 수 있다. 또한 레지던스 프로그램과 교육활동을 통해 국제 교류를 활성화하는 새로운 미술관의 교육 효과를 얻는 것이다. 둘째, 미술관 조직에 교육 전문 부서를 편제하여 운영해야 한다. 현재 관람객 유치가 가장 중요하며, 만약 교육부서가 전문화된다면 마케팅이 적극적으로 활용될 것이다. 그리고 미술관에 전문적 지식을 가진 ‘미술관 에듀케이터’를 도입하여 미술관 교육 업무를 맡도록 해야 한다. 셋째, 지역사회의 작가, 관련 전공자를 위한 재교육 프로그램의 활성화가 시급하다. 앞으로 그들이 국제적인 전문가로 성장할 수 있도록 세미나, 강연 등 교육 지원과 국제적인 교류가 활발해야 한다. 마지막으로 미술관의 본질인 전시와 교육프로그램의 상호작용을 통해 미술관의 교육적 가치를 높일 수 있을 것이다.
본 연구를 통해 미술관의 교육적 기능과 역할에 대해 분석하였다. 또한 그 결과를 바탕으로 소통과 교육적 역할의 중요성을 알 수 있었다. 이처럼 교육의 중요성이 부각되는 이유는 능동적이고, 적극적인 미술관이 되기 위한 것이다. 국내 미술관에서 교육은 존재하지만 대중들에게 잘 알려지지 않았으며 참여가 부족한 현실이다. 따라서 그 원인으로 소극적인 교육 활동과 교육 전문가가 없음을 알 수 있었다. 더불어 교육프로그램 구성이 부족하고, 지역사회와 미술관에 맞는 프로그램의 개발이 시급한 실정이다. 그리고 미술관의 교육활동을 활성화시키기 위한 연구를 시행하게 되었다. 이러한 연구를 통한 결과를 바탕으로 미래지향적인 미술관을 위한 교육프로그램 개발과 적용할 수 있는 실용적인 후속 연구가 있기를 바란다. 이를 통해 장기적인 측면에서 우리 미술관 교육의 발전가능성을 기대해본다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The aim of this study was to investigate the educational function and role of art museum through 'communication' in society today. First of all, we have been reconsidered for the roles and social value of art museum through by general society, and could been deducted the desirable expectation by communicate with art museum in contemporary. Also, we considered the educational value, and investigated about the educational activity by particular program in society today. As a result, we can suggest the way of education of art museum by communication.
Firstly, we have to make a opportunity for better education of art museum beyond the concept of general art museum by acceptance of perlocutionary characterization. The art museum is a mediator as a communication method with visitor, and we can have a promote effect by higher and various service for visitor. Also, we can have an educational effect in newly art museum by residence program and educational behaviors.
Secondly, we have to manage the department of education specialty in art museum network. In now, the most important thing is the audience invitation, and if it is confirmed to specialize, it can be effectively utilized for marketing to have a audience. Also, we need to have a specialized educator in art museum.
Thirdly, the activation of retraining program for artist in local society and majored person are urgently needed. It must be activated to have a international specialist by seminar, lecture, educational supporting and international exchange.
Lastly, we can achieve the educational value in essence of art museum by exhibition and interaction of educational program.
In this study, we investigated the educational function and roles in art museum. Also, we can found the most important things of communication and roles of education by the result in this study. The important things mean active and enthusiastic. The education of art museum is existed, but it is not famous to a populace and still has shortage. In this sense, we realized that don't have any specialist for educational behavior. Also, the system of educational program is not good, we always need to have a developmental program for local area and art museum, have been research for activation.
In this study, we will have a continuous research for developmental program for future oriented museum. We can have an expectation of developmental possibility for our art education in the long term.
