에코페미니즘에 의한 장신구 표현 연구 = A study on jewellery expression by Ecofeminism

국문 초록 (Abstract)

오늘날 우리의 삶은 과학과 기술의 가속적 발전을 통해 놀랄만한 물질문명, 사회 구조적인 발전을 이루었으나, 그와 함께 대두되는 환경파괴의 문제는 인류를 심각한 고민 속에 빠뜨리고 있다. 눈부신 물질문명의 발전 속에서 영원히 지속될 것만 같았던 인류의 미래는 지구 온난화, 자원고갈, 오존층 파괴, 산성비, 토양침식, 수질오염 등의 환경 위기로 생존의 위협을 받고 있다. 자원수급 불안은 더 많은 자원과 물질적 풍요를 얻기 위해 약자에 대한 억압과 착취로 이어져 인류는 심각한 상황에 직면해 있다.
20세기 말에 등장한 에코페미니즘(Ecofeminism)은 시기적으로 보았을 때 이론적인 정립이 미비하여 아직은 하나의 경향으로서 존재하지만, 자연에 속한 인간의 본질을 회복하자는 개념이다. 인간은 자연의 일부이며 자연을 떠나서는 생존할 수 없기 때문에 자연과 인간의 평화적 공존에서 의미를 찾는다. 나는 남성과 여성, 인간과 자연이 원래 하나라고 생각하고 어울림과 균형을 통해 생명의 존엄성과 소중함을 인식하고 자연의 아름다움과 순수함의 가치를 실현하고자 한다. 이러한 에코페미니즘의 기본 개념에 따라 이 연구 작업은 환경파괴에 대한 위기의 인식을 통해 자연과의 동화를 추구하며 표현하는 것이다. 장신구 제작에는 실버클레이(silverclay)를 주재료로 사용하였고 각인기법, 중공기법을 활용하여 제작의 효율성을 높였다. 제작을 위한 연구 내용은 크게 2가지로 요약될 수 있다. 첫째 에코페미니즘의 발생 배경 및 개념을 고찰하고 제작의 동기가 되는 에코페미니즘 표현물의 상징적 특징을 알아본다. 둘째 자연의 위기가 인간의 위기임을 깨닫고 환경파괴와 자연 이미지를 상징함으로써 자연의 아름다움을 표현하고 인간과 자연이 조화를 이루는데 그 목적을 둔다.
현대의 위기를 겪고 있는 우리에게 자연의 중요성과 공존의 의미를 되새겨 봄으로써 좀 더 인간다운 삶을 살 수 있는 방향을 모색해 보았다. 에코페미니즘에 대한 이론적 고찰을 통해 자연의 위기와 자연과의 동화를 표현하였으며 그 과정을 통하여 인간과 자연, 사회가 더불어 살기에 좋은 방식을 제안할 수 있는 참다운 공예인의 역할을 기대해 본다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Today's modern society has accomplished amazing substances and social structural development through accelerative development of science and technology. However, the problems caused by this development, have landed people in serious troubles. The survival of human beings' future, which seemed to be continued for good in remarkable development of material civilization, has been threatened by environmental crisis such as destruction of ozone layer, acid rain, global warming, depleting resources, soil erosion and water pollution. In addition, since worries about demand and supply of resources have led suppressing and exploiting the weak, in order to obtain the more resources and the material prosperity, human being isn't being able to get through a serious crisis.
Ecofeminism which appeared in the late twentieth century, exists still as a tendency since the theoretical thesis is not timely made out properly, but it is a conception which insists to retrieve the nature of human beings who belong to the nature. Since human beings are a part of the nature, and they cannot survive away from the nature, the true meaning can be found in the peaceful coexistence in the nature and human beings. I, as a researcher of this study, would like to realize the values of dignity and preciousness of the life, and beauty and purity of the nature through the balance and the harmony, considering that a man and a woman, and the nature and the human beings are originally the one. According to these fundamental conceptions of Ecofeminism, the motif of this study is to express and pursuing assimilation with the nature through the recognition about the crisis of environmental destruction.
The content of this study for work production can be largely summarized by two as follow. First, we consider the background and the conception of Ecofeminism, and learn about the symbolic characteristics of Ecofeminism representation which becomes the motif of the production of a work. Second, we are aware of the nature crisis as the crisis of human beings, and have objectives to strive for the harmony of the nature and the human beings, and to express the beauty of the nature through producing the accessories which symbolize the image of the nature and the environmental destruction.
We try to find a way to live more human life through thinking over the meaning of coexistence and the importance of environment for us who have gone through the modern crisis. Through theoretical consideration about Ecofeminism, we produced the accessory which symbols the nature image and the environmental problems. We expect the roles of true artisans who are able to suggest the good way for human beings with the nature and the society, all together through the procedures.
