The purpose of this study is to analyses characteristics of Bundang city as a
residential suburb according to demographical structures of inhabitants, family
characteristic, social economic characteristic, housing level and trip behavior.
The results can be summarized as follows.
First, Bundang became very high rate in the number of populations, households
after 1991 when it has been constructed to new town development and they
immigrate. And also mainly composed of teenagers, thirties, forties.
Second, the composition of household in Bundang is mainly single family of 4
people. There are many household whose Householder is, as in his thirties or
forties, in fostering and education period of family life cycle. And many of them
are graduated from university, employed sales and service, and earn 2 - 3 millions
won of high monthly average income and have 30 - 40 py?ng apartment.
Third, the inhabitants in Bundang immigrate from Kangnam - Ku, Secho - Ku,
Songpa - Ku, Seongdong - Ku. Because of the needs of wider living space, good
environment and low expenses of house. And householder's company is located at
Kangnam - Ku, Chung - Ku, Secho - Ku, Yeongdeungpo - Ku. They also come and
go to Seoul for the purpose of office attendance, shopping, leisure once in a week.
Forth, the Plan to develops self - sufficient new town are efficient traffic policy,
safety measure of apartment structure, expansion of educational facilities and
convenience facilities and making of employee chance in region.
New town constructed in the Seoul metropolitan area has only residence function
as residential suburbs without self - support. There are no study of suburbanization
in new town. Therefore, We need plans to the gap between new town construction
purpose and reality through continuous study about it.
