유니버설 디자인 개념을 적용한 주거공간에 관한 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 유니버설 디자인 개념을 주거공간에 적용하는데 고려할 기준설정과 배려기준을 제시하고 주거공간 생활의 질적 향상에 기여할 수 있는 유니버설 디자인 보급을 위한 기초적 자료를 제공함에 있어 유니버설 디자인의 원리와 개념에 대한 이해와 주거공간에 대한 사회적 변화와 유니버설 디자인 도입의 필요성에 대한 이해에 그 기본을 둔다.
유니버설 디자인의 시초인 미국의 주거공간 사례 조사를 통하여 주거공간에 있어서 유니버설 디자인을 반영하기 위한 기준설정과 배려기준을 제시하여 주거공간 생활의 질적 향상에 기여할 수 있는 유니버설 디자인 보급을 위한 기초적 자료를 제공하고자 함을 목적으로 한다.이에 본 논문은 유니버설 디자인 개념을 적용한 주거공간에 관한 연구라고 제목하고 제Ⅰ장 서론 제Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ장의 본론 및 제Ⅴ장의 결론으로 구성된다.<제Ⅰ장 서론>에서는 본 연구의 목적 및 의의와 연구의 내용 및 방법을 밝힌다.<제Ⅱ장 이론적 배경>에서는 유니버설 디자인의 개념을 밝힌다. 유니버설 디자인의 개념인 사회적 출현 배경과 발달, 기초이념과 디자인원칙을 고찰하고 유니버설 디자인의 주거공간의 사회적 변화 및 유니버설 디자인의 필요성을 제시하며 본 장 전체를 마무리 하고 있다.<제Ⅲ장 유니버설 주거공간의 분석>은 상술한 제Ⅱ장에 근거한 본론으로 유니버설 디자인을 구체적으로 고찰한다. 특히 유니버설 디자인을 반영하기 위한 기준설정을 제시하기 위하여 주거공간을 공간적 측면과 집기요소 측면으로 나누어 분석하였다. 공간적 측면은 공간 배치 측면과 공간의 구성 요소 측면으로 나누고 집기요소 측면은 공간별 집기류 측면과 기능적 측면으로 나누어 그 고찰 대상을 삼고 있다. 이러한 단계적 고찰을 밟아 본 연구의 관점은 유니버설 주거공간의 디자인이 설정되며, 이를 토대로 유니버설 주거공간 디자인의 기준설정과 유니버설 주거공간 디자인의 배려기준을 제시하며 본 장 전체를 맺고 있다.<제Ⅳ장 유니버설 주거공간 디자인 제안>에서는 유니버설 디자인의 개념과 원리를 반영한 주거공간을 단층 복도형, 단층 중앙홀형과 복층 분리형 3가지 유형으로 나누어 유니버설 주거공간을 제시하며, 제안 공간의 향후 변화의 디자인 수용계획에 대하여 제시하고 있다.<제Ⅴ장 결론>에서는 분석 내용으로부터 유니버설 주거공간 디자인의 분석은 첫째, 공간적 측면의 공간 배치 측면은 수직적, 수평적 개방공간을 많이 사용하여 사용자로 하여금 심리적 안정감을 주었고, 구성 요소 측면은 공간의 분할과 연결을 벽, 문의 사용 대신 기둥을 많이 사용하여 개방공간의 사용으로 보다 편안한 동선 고려하였다.둘째, 집기류 측면의 공간별 집기류 측면에 있어 부엌의 경우『ㄷ자형』부엌을 많이 사용하였고, 수납공간이 용이한 붙박이 가구를 많이 사용하였다. 기능적 측면은 모든 사용자들이 쉽게 접근 할 수 있도록 하는 것이 최우선의 방법이라는 것이 규명되었다.유니버설 디자인의 바람직한 적용 방법을 위하여 디자이너의 임무는 유니버설 개념이 도입될 수 있는 공간 디자인을 설계해야 하며, 이것을 활용 가능하게 하여 보다 첨단 테크놀러지화의 시대 속에서 인간의 진정한 삶의 질을 향상시키기 위한 조화와 균형의 길을 모색해야 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This research is strongly focus on the application of the Universal Design concept to living space. The purpose of this research is to show the status by providing data that contributed to improvement of the quality of life in terms of the living space. The thesis is based on the social trend in the living system, the principle of the Universal Design, the understanding of its concept and of the necessity in the introduction of the Universal Design.The thesis is written to provide basic information for extension of the Universal Design, which improved the quality of life, with examples of the living space in America where the first Universal Design originated. Therefore, the thesis is written based on my research of the Universal Design concept being introduced into our living space.The thesis consists of the following chapters; Chapter I as the introduction, Chapter II, III, IV, and V as the main subject, and Chapter VI as the conclusion.<CH 1, introduction> shows the purpose, significance, contents and method of the research.<CH 2, the general consideration of Universal Design and Living Space> shows the social background, development, and design principle in the Universal Design. The thesis concludes by introducing social trends in the living space and the necessity of the introduction of the Universal Design.<CH 3, analysis of case studies on Universal Living Space> is the main chapter. It explains the Universal Design Concept in living Space concretely based on the contents of CH2. For the criteria of the Universal Design, the case studies are analyzed into two perspectives. One is the architectural perspective, the other the furnishing perspective.Also the architectural perspective is analyzed in two factors; the layout and the component element. And the furnishing point in; the furnishing layout and the functional element.
This chapter focuses on the guideline for the settlement of the Universal Design in the living space.
<CH 4, propose the direction of the Universal Design Concept in living spaces> shows three styles of basing; reflected by the Universal Design in a single floor hall, a multiple floor central hall, and a multiple modification upon any future variation in the space applied.<CH 5, Conclusion> concludes the thesis, which analyzed the Universal Design Concept to living spaces by presenting several suggestions as follows;
the layout of the architectural perspective allows a user to feel psychological comfort with its horizontal and vertical open spaces. The component element gives consideration to a comfortable flow to user by the use of pillars instead and a spatial separation.In the furnishing layout factor in the furnishing perspective, a use of c-like designed kitchen and fixed, permanent furniture are prevalent. The functional factor of view in the Universal Design allows a user to approach a horizontal and vertical design.For the appropriate settlement of the Universal Design in our society, a designer must consider the space for the Universal Design and find a method to harmonize human life with new advanced technology, which introduces the Universal Design to our life.
