The chief aim of writing this paper is to check the present situation about education of Chinese character in the elementary school, and to grope for the method of composing a Chinese textbook.
There is no curriculum for education of Chinese character in the elementary school, but students learn Chinese character. Their teachings are very different, because there is no textbook for elementary students. At present in our nation, the education of Chinese character formally begins from the middle school, and the education of Chinese character in elementary school is being done in spare time or after school. Therefore, the teaching is not in a system but in a state of disorder. In order to solve above problems, this writer researched about composing a Chinese textbook for elementary students like followings.
At first, this writer explained the purpose and method of this paper. After that, researched the reason why there are many confusions of teaching Chinese character in the elementary school. Up to now, educators have never consulted about teaching Chinese character for elementary students. As a result, there was no textbook or a formal teaching.
At the second chapter, this writer researched the need and the present situation of Chinese character’s education in the elementary school. In this part, emphasized that the knowledge of Chinese character is a great help to studying all subjects.
At the third chapter, studied on how to select the basic Chinese character’s education in the elementary school. In this part, inspected the Chinese character which are concerned with respect consideration responsibility conform justice and citizenship.
At the forth chapter, this writer composed a textbook which is connected with interesting vocabulary and personality. this is deferent from the style which put strength on the education of cramming students' head with knowledges. This writer hope, even though this paper is not perfect for education, the researched theories in this paper are helpful for promoting the Chinese character’s education in the elementary school.
