Excess enthalpy is a thermo-physical property needed for the design and operation of various chemical processes. Moreover those values are important to understand the intermolecular forces between molecules.
Excess molar enthalpies, HE, of binary mixtures of 2-alcohol with n-alkane have been measured at 313.15 K under atmospheric pressure using a flow-type isothermal microcalorimeter. The experimental HE values are positive for all the binary mixtures over the entire range of compositions. The experimental data have been correlated with the modified Redlich-Kister equation with 5 coefficients. And data also have been correlated with NLF-HB EOS (nonrandom lattice fluid equation of state with hydrogen bonding).
