The purpose of this study is to find out the factors that have influences on the knowledge sharing activities of university administrative organization and to make some suggestions to vitalize the knowledge sharing at the organization. The specific aims of this paper are as follows. First is to find the core basic factors for effective operating of the knowledge sharing and to understand the relationship between knowledge sharing and job performance. Second is to examine the correlation between the factors and the knowledge sharing. Third is to analyze the effect of knowledge sharing on the innovative behavior and the job performance. Fourth is to suggest the way of the knowledge sharing at university administrative organization for improving the job performance on the basis of the analysed result. In order to achieve this purpose effectively, I conducted both the theoretical and the case study.
The analytic framework of this study is as follows. In chapter 2 followed to the Introduction, I talks about the theoretical study and the analysis of knowledge sharing, its operation and performance. On the basis of theoretical study, I draw the core basic factors for effective operating of knowledge sharing such as a leadership, a culture of organization, an information technology, an evaluation and reward system, a work process, a learning, and a manpower, and examined the knowledge sharing of university administrative organization, the innovative behavior, and the job performance.
In chapter 3, I conducted a positive analysis throughout the survey of the school staff in 12 private universities located in Seoul. This chapter analyses the present situation based on the survey and makes some suggestions for activating the knowledge sharing at university administrative organization to maximize the job performance using the results of a theoretical study and a positive analysis. At the conclusion of this paper, chapter 4, I summarizes all of discussions and describes the meaning and the limitations of this study.
The results of this study are in brief as follows. Firstly, as a result of cognitive analysis, most of members have the positive attitude to take part in the knowledge sharing activities and notice the necessity of knowledge sharing to promote efficiency, in spite of the lack of organizational support. That is, the knowledge sharing of university administrative organization is not vitalized because of the insufficient knowledge sharing system, the absence of learning organization, the deficiency of evaluation and reward system, the organization structure, and the shortage of leadership.
Secondly I find out the basic factors for the effective operating of the knowledge sharing which have a positive effect. Those factors include a work process, a culture of organization, a leadership, a learning, a manpower, an evaluation and reward system except for an information technology. And I discover that the knowledge sharing have a positive influence on the innovative behavior and the job performance.
In consequence, to activate the knowledge sharing at university administrative organization, the culture of organization must be changed to the knowledge-friendly one under the positive support of the chief and his leadership. It is necessary to connect the work process based on knowledge sharing activities, to change members' recognition and their attitude, to enlarge supports to develop their education and learning, as well as to build the evaluation and the reward system of knowledge sharing activities on the basis of the evaluate system with the objective validity.
