국내산 벤토나이트의 차수재로서의 공학적 특성 = The Engineering Properties of Korean Bentonite as Soil Sealant

국문 초록 (Abstract)

포항, 하서 및 효동지역 벤토나이트의 광물조성, 화학조성 및 물리적 특성을 조사한 후, 치수재로서의 활용 가능성에 대해 연구하였다. 효동지역 벤토나이트가 포함 및 하서지역 벤토나이트에 비해 Na_2O 함량과 MgO 함량은 높게 나타나나, Fe_2O_2 함량 및 TiO_2 함량은 낮은 값을 보인다. 연구대상 시료는 평균 1.83×10^8 - 3.58×10^8 cm/sec 사이의 아주 작은 수리전도도를 보여, 매립지 점토치수재로서 이용 가능하다고 사료된다. 효동지역 벤토나이트가 포항 및 하서지역의 벤토나이트에 비해서 차수특성 및 기타 물성이 양호하게 나타나는데, 이는 주로 벤토나이트의 몬모릴로나이트 함량과 몬모릴로나이트의 층간 양이온중 Na이온 구성비 등에 의한 영향 때문이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

An investigation has been made on the mineralogical, geochemical and physical properties of the domestic bentontes for the evaluation of the possibility as a soil sealant. The domestic bentonites were collected from eleven mines in Pohang. Haseo and Hyodong areas Bentonite from Hyodong area has the higher concentrations of Na_2O and MgO than those from Pohang and Haseo areas. The average hydraulic conductivity of the samples renges from 1.83×10^8 to 3.58×10^8 cm/sec. These values clearly show the domestic bentonites can be used as the landfill sealant. The better physical property, especially, of bentonite from Hyodong area than those from Pohang and Haseo areas is attributable to the presence of the higher contents of montmorillonite and Na_2O.
