The following is the result of historical research on 17th century costumes of major characteristics in the fiction historical film <Gwanghae, the man who became a king/ Masquerade>.
The king wears Ikseongwan, gonryongpo, blue okdae and heukhwa as daily cloths. Because there is no king's portrait in that era, the form can be inferred through the portrait of Baekgwan. The queen wears eoyeomeori, dangui and skirt as daily cloths. The remains of dangui indicate red, but green was also available. Doseungji wears ceremonial heukdanryeong, whose breast and back parts are silver pheasant, and the method of expressing those parts is weaving or embroidery. The king's close bodyguards wear jurib, cheolig, gwangdahoi and suhwaja for military uniforms of dangsanggwan. Men wear heukrib, jigryeong or dopo, sejodae and unhye for ordinary cloths.
