Disorders of patella are the most common cause of anterior knee pain. In the development of bipartite or multipartite patella, it was concerned with incomplete union of two or multiple foci of ossification.
The authors report one case of tripartite patella with anterior knee pain. He was thirteen years old, skeletally immatured patient. The patella lesion was nomrally classified as a developmental variation(Saupe type I and type III), proved to have a symptomatic lesion with a traumatic etiology. In this patient, conservative treatment resulted in complete improvement of symptoms.
