주민평생학습활동가의 참여동기 탐색 : G 광역자치단체의 평생학습마을학교 운영위원을 중심으로 = Qualitative Research on the Participation Motivation of Citizen-lifelong Learning-activists

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구의 목적은 G광역자치단체 내 평생학습마을에서 활동하고 있는 주민평생학습활동가의 참여동기가 무엇인지를 탐색하는 것이다. 주민평생학습활동가는 자신이 거주하는 마을에서 평생교육사의 역할을 자발적으로 수행함으로써, 지역공동체 내 평생학습문화를 확산하기 위하여 적극적이며 주도적인 활동을 펼치는 사람을 말한다. 이들의 참여동기를 탐색하기 위하여 현재 평생학습마을을 성공적으로 운영하고 있는 G광역자치단체 내 평생학습마을학교 위원들을 대상으로 개인별 심층인터뷰와 초점집단면접[FGI]을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 이들의 참여동기는 거주지역에 대한 문제인식, 마을리더의 필요성 인식, 마을이 가진 문제해결에 대한 의지표출, 주변의 기대와 요구충족이 참여동기 요인으로 도출되었다. 또한 평생학습을 통한 주민들의 변화, 학습마을 공동체의식 강화, 마을의 가치를 통한 내적 동기 강화가 참여의 지속요인으로 나타났다. 이 연구는 평생학습마을을 하나의 조직으로 이해하고 주민평생학습활동가의 참여동기를 도출하였다는 점과 그것을 지방자치단체에서 어떻게 전략적으로 지원할 수 있을지 제언하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to explore the motivation for participation of citizen-lifelong learning-activists of lifelong learning communities in G-local government. Citizen-lifelong learning-activists are engaged in active and pioneering activities to promote the lifelong learning culture within the communities in which they live by choosing to perform the lifelong educator’s role. To investigate their participation motivation, focus group interviews and interviews with community members of lifelong learning community schools located in G-local government were conducted. As a result, the factors of their participation motivation include recognition of the local problem, awareness of the need for community leaders, and desire to meet the expectation of community and residents. In addition, the factors of their continuous motivation for activity include the improvement of community sentiment through lifelong learning, cohesion among c ommunity members, and strength of participation’s intrinsic motivation. The factors of participation motivation were derived, and strategies for how local authorities can support citizen-lifelong learning-activists were proposed.
