환경으로 본 안데스 전통문화와 동아시아 문화의 관계성의 원리 = The Principle of Relationship of Andean Traditional Culture and the East Asian Culture in Environmental Perspective

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 안데스 ​​전통문화의 관계성의 원리와 동아시아 문화의 관계성의 원리의 유사점과 차이점을 비교하고 이러한 유사점과 차이점이 두 지역의 환경에서 비롯되었다는 것을 밝히는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 동아시아 문화에서 중요한 역할을 한 유교의 관계성의 원리를 안데스 전통 문화의 관계성의 원리와 비교하였다. 이러한 비교를 바탕으로, 본 논문은 특히 환경-문화 관계론, 특히 쌀 문화권 대 밀 문화권이라는 이분법적 문화론을 제기한 이철승의 문화-환경론의 관점에서 동아시아 문화가 안데스 전통 문화와 상대적으로 유사한 이유를 분석하였다. 그러나 본 분석을 통해 강력한 협업 문화는 벼농사 문화뿐만 아니라 불안정한 물 공급과 자연재해와 같은 어려운 환경적 요인을 갖는 안데스 전통 문화에서도 발생할 수 있음을 밝혔다. 이 논문을 통해 동아시아 학자들이 안데스의 독특한 문화와 환경에 대한 학문적 지평을 넓히기를 바란다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper seeks to compare the principle of relationship in the Andean traditional culture and in East Asian culture, and it argues that these similarities and differences should stem from the environments of the two regions. For this purpose, the Confucian principle of relationship, which played an important role in East Asia culture, was compared with the Andean principle. On the base of this comparison, this paper analyzes why East Asian culture has relative similarities to Andean traditional culture relying on the viewpoint of the environment- culture relationship especially expounded by Cheolsung Lee (2021). He distinguishes East Asian rice farming culture from wheat farming culture. But this analysis reveals that the strong cooperative culture does not originate only from rice farming culture but other styles of farming is also accompanied with a cooperative culture, as Andean traditional culture proves. In this culture difficult environmental factors such as unstable water supply and natural disasters make Andean farmers keep such a strong cooperative culture as East Asian’s. Based on this paper, I hope that East Asian scholars give an attention to the Andean pecular culture and environment.
