외국인(外國人) 학습자를 위한 교육용 기본한자(基本漢字)의 선정(選定)－초(初)ㆍ중급(中級) 한자(漢字)를 중심(中心)으로－ = A Study on the Selection of Fundamental Chinese Characters for Education of Foreign Students

국문 초록 (Abstract)

韓國語 語彙의 60% 이상을 漢字語가 차지한다는 사실은, 國語敎育뿐만 아니라 ‘外國語로서의 韓國語敎育’에서도 漢字敎育의 필요성을 제기하는 중요한 근거가 된다. 따라서 한국어교육에서 學習者의 語彙力을 伸張시키고자 할 때 한자교육이 效果的인 方法이 될 수 있다는 것은 自明하다.
本稿에서는 한국어교육에서 漢字敎育과 관련되어 제기되어 온 문제-對象, 時期, 內容 등-에 대해 검토하고, 이를 바탕으로 非漢字圈 外國人 學習者에게 가장 적합한 敎育用 基本漢字를 選定하였다. ‘敎育用 基本漢字’는 한국어의 기초어휘와 교육용 기본어휘에 해당하는 漢字語에 쓰이는 것, 造語力이 높은 것, 韓國語의 基礎語彙에 해당하는 것 등인데, 수업 현실을 감안하여 高頻度字 332字를 選定하였다. 이를 學習者의 수준에 맞춰, 初級에 해당하는 <漢字 1>에 163字, 中級에 해당하는 <漢字 2>에 169字를 配當하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The objective of this paper is to select the basic Chinese Characters and to classify them to the subjects and finally to organize the format of curriculum for Chinese Characters required in Korean education.
It is inevitable to learn Chinese characters as for improving Korean vocabulary. The fundamental Chinese Characters for Korean language education need the following qualifications; 1) Chinese Character words used in basic Korean vocabulary and fundamental vocabulary. 2) Chinese Characters that possess strong derivative power for word formation. According to this qualification 332 Chinese Characters are classified as fundamental Chinese Characters for education.
According to the level, the fundamental Chinese Characters are divided into two parts. Part 1 is for the non Chinese-oriented beginners. 163 Chinese Characters are selected for
part 1 and the contents are classified and organized according to the subjects such as numbers, days of the week, nature, time and seasons, part of the human body, human, life, direction, animals & plants, colors, movements, celestial bodies and climate, quantity and affix.
Part 2 aimed at students who has completed part 1 or in intermediate level and above. 169 Chinese Characters are selected for part 2 and the contents are classified and organized to the subjects such as time, place, spirit, ethics, human, society & culture, objects, science, direction, things, life, movement, state and affix.
