추계적 샘플링을 이용한 역광선 추적법 = A Backward Ray Tracing Method With Stochastic Sampling

국문 초록 (Abstract)

광선추적법은 물체들 간의 간접조명효과를 표현하지 못하는 단점을 갖는다. 역광선추적법에 의해 정반사 표면으로부터 난반사 표면으로의 간접조명효과는 해결되었지만 난반사 표면 사이의 간접조명효과는 광선추적법으로 해결되지 못하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 난반사 물체들간의 간접조명을 표현하는 개선된 역광선 추적법을 제안한다. 제안된 알고리즘은 분산광선추적법에서 사용된 stochastic 샘플링 기법을 사용하였다. 알고리즘의 성능을 입증하기 위해 기존의 알고리즘에 의해 생성된 영상과 비교하였다. 제안된 알고리즘으로 생성된 영상에서는 기존의 알고리즘이 표현하지 못하는 난반사에 의한 조명효과가 나타난다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

A notable omission from the repertoire of ray tracing is indirect interreflection of lights between surfaces of object. Though backward ray tracing have been introduced which simulates partial interreflection - from the specular surface to the diffuse surface, ray tracing paradigm continues to neglect the interreflection from the diffuse to diffuse surface. In this paper, we propose an improved backward ray tracing algorithm which can simulate the indirect illumination between diffuse surfaces. Proposed algorithm uses the stochastic sampling of distributed ray tracing in order to model the reflection of ray on the diffuse surface. To verify this algorithm, the test images by the proposed algorithm are presented with the images by the existing one. We can verify that images by the proposed algorithm have the effects of diffuse reflection.
