동화를 활용한 극화놀이에서 표상활동이 유아의 공간능력에 미치는 효과

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 동화를 활용한 극화놀이에서 유아들에게 활동적 표상, 영상적 표상, 상징적 표상활동을 실험 처치한 후 유아의 공간능력에 미치는 효과를 비교 분석하였다. 사전검사에서 동질 집단이라고 확인한 후 실험ㆍ비교집단 각 20명씩 만4ㆍ5세 유아 40명을 대상으로, 사전ㆍ사후 검사 실험 설계 방법에 의해 총 8주간 처치가 이루어졌다. 공간능력은 홍혜경 (2001a)의 공간능력검사를 사용하였다. 연구 결과 표상활동을 경험한 실험 집단이 전체 공간 능력에서 비교집단 보다 유의한 차이를 보였으며, 공간 능력의 하위요인인 눈 운동 협응, 공간 지각에서 위치 알기에서는 유의한 차이가 없었으나, 공간적 추리, 형태 배경 구별, 시각적 기억 및 회상하기에서 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났다.

This study investigates the effects of representational activities using fairy tales during dramatic play on children's spatial abilities after doing an experiment on coactive representation, iconic representation, and symbolic representation, The subjects of this study were 40 children aged 4-5. 20 children were in the experimental group and twenty in the comparative group. The experimental treatment was conducted for 8 weeks. In this study, the instrument for Testing Children's Spatial Abilities, developed by Hong(200la), was used.
The findings of this study are as follows. First, as for children's spatial abilities, it showed that the experimental group was significantly higher than the comparative group. Second, as for the sub-factors of children's spatial abilities, it appeared that the experimental group was significantly higher than the comparative group in the sub-factors such as spatial reasoning, the distinction between figure and background. and visual memory or recollection. There appeared no statistically signifiant difference between two groups in the sub-factors such as the eye motor coordination and position-in-space perception.
