Sacrificial rite of Seo-won base on Seok-jeon(釋奠) was held in the government school such as Hyang-gyo and imitate it, but drew a sharp distinction about the subject, the scale and the ritual. Especially, it strongly reflected the sense of authenticity lineage(道統) when select the subject, but it adopted relatively small scale and simple ritual. These characteristics of sacrificial rite of Seo-won outstandingly appeared in the Joseon Dynasty: So-su-seo-won(紹修書院), Nam-gye-seo-won(灆溪書院), Ok-san-seo-won(玉山書院), Do-san-seo-won(陶山書院), Pil-Am-seo-won(筆巖書院), Do-dong-seo-won(道東書院), Byeong-san-seo-won(屛山書院), Mu-seong-seo-won(武城書院), Don-am-seo-won(遯巖書院).

This study is designed in order to identify empirically that sacrificial rite of Seo-won how to development in Joseon Dynasty by comparison the Nine representative Seo-won in Joseon Dynasty.
Specific rituals are difference between the Nine Seo-won, if it includes the other Seo-wons, the difference is more. However the existence of this difference itself shows that various academic communities autonomously established through the process of distress and debate. Sacrificial rite of Seo-won in Joseon Dynasty maintained general similarity, but also maintained negligible differences, it represents diversity of Seo-won culture in in Joseon Dynasty.
