청소년 자살문제와 죽음준비교육 = A Study on the adolescent suicides and "death-preparing education"

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구의 목적은 급증하는 청소년 자살문제의 교육학적 해결을 모색하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 여기에서는 첫째, 우리나라 청소년 자살현황을 각종 통계자료와 자살 실행자의 유서 분석을 통해 청소년 자살 유형과 원인을 파악하도록 한다. 둘째, 청소년 자살이라는 문제에 직면해서 과연 죽음이란 무엇인가를 알아보도록 한다. 셋째, 이를 토대로 청소년 죽음준비교육의 개념과 목적 그리고 그 내용을 제시하도록 한다. 청소년 자살의 중요한 원인은 입시부담으로 인한 ``성적``요인, 가족내부의 갈등이나 대화단절, 이성문제 그리고 낮은 자존감 문제 등으로 밝혀지고 있다. 자살을 실행한 자들의 유서를 분석해 보면 그들은 심각한 내면의 고통과 폐쇄적 삶 그리고 매우 편협적인 사고방식과 인지적 왜곡현상이 뚜렷하였다. 죽음의 개념 논의에서는 특히 하이데거의 죽음개념을 통해 비본래적인 삶에서 본래적인 삶으로의 절대 전환을 가져올 수 있다는 철학적 사유를 분석하였다. 또 죽음의 계기인 고통은 현재적 삶을 초월하여 새로운 삶의 의지로 승화될 수 있음을 밝혔다. 또한 죽음이라는 사건은 시들어가는 생명을 다시 일깨우고, 의식을 회복하고, 새로운 의미를 찾는 죽음준비교육을 성립시킨다는 것을 논의하였다. 끝으로 죽음준비교육은 청소년들로 하여금 삶의 긍정적인 측면뿐만 아니라 부정적인 면까지 노출시키면서 자기성장을 촉진할 수 있도록 돕는 것임을 설명하였다. 그리고 삶의 유한성을 깨닫고 현재 주어진 시간에 보다 의미있게 살라는 역설의 교육개념임을 알아보았다. 결론적으로 이 연구는 일상적인 삶 속에서 학생 스스로 죽음을 경험하는 소극적 태도보다는 정규교육과정에서 의도적인 교육주제로 삼아 청소년의 자아성찰과 자아성장을 이끌어줄 필요가 있음을 주장하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to explore problems of the adolescent suicides increasing radically in light of an education in school. In order to conduct this, the first is to estimate the kinds and reasons behind the adolescent suicides, based on ``Statistics Korea`` and examination of wills from suicides. The second is to explore the topic of ``what the mortal is confronting the matter of the adolescent suicides.`` The third is to suggest the concept, purpose, and content of a ``death-preparing education`` for adolescent based on the former discussion. The primary reasons for the adolescent suicides engage in the pressure from pursuing the higher education and score, the family factors, such as conflicts or lack of communication in family members, dating issues, and low self-esteem. According to suicides` wills, it was conspicuous that they had suffered from serious internal confusion, an anti-social life style, a narrow mind set, and a distorted perception. With a discourse about the concept of death, Heidegger`s philosophy about mortals is presented, which the non-primordial life could be absolutely transformed to the primordial life. Moreover the pain, which is a cause of death, could be channeled into a new faith of life, by transcending a present-dominant life style. It`s discussed that the incident of being mortal makes people to prepare their own death, which revitalizes waning beings, restores consciousness, and completes the ``death-preparing education`` finding a new meaning of their own lives. Lastly, ``death-preparing education`` is exposing both positive and negative aspects of lives to adolescent, which helps them enhance self-maturity themselves. This study identifies that ``death-preparing education`` evokes the idea of finitude of life and it would be the paradoxical concept making better concentration on present. In conclusion, this study argues that official education system has to guide adolescent toward death making this topic as educational subjects intentionally, rather than posing a defensive attitude, which makes them experience death individually.
