써보 머그더(Szabó Magda)의 소설『노루(Az őz)』에 나타난 트라우마의 정신분석학적 고찰 = A Psychoanalytic Approach to Traumas in Az őz

국문 초록 (Abstract)

‘20세기 후반까지의 정신과학은 프로이드(Freud)의 정신분석학이 지배했다.’고 말할 정도로 프로이드의 이론은 광범위한 분야에 걸쳐 지대한 영향을 끼쳤다. 문학 역시 지대한 영향을 받았기 때문에 프로이드 정신분석 이론의 보고(寶庫)는 문학이라고 말하기도 한다. 따라서 현대문학 작품 속에 등장하는 억압된 욕망과 그 욕망표출의 결과들은 많은 경우에 있어서 프로이드의 정신분석 이론이 작품 분석의 틀이 될 수 있다. 써보 머그더(Szabó Magda)의 작품들은 여성의 심리와 내면적 갈등을 섬세하게 묘사하고 의식의 흐름에 따라 과거와 현재를 넘나드는 광범위한 시간적 공간을 활용한다. 본고의 분석 대상 작품인 『노루』역시 정신분석학의 영향을 받은 대표적인 소설로 어린 시절의 트라우마, 꿈, 억압된 감정, 콤플렉스, 무의식 등 프로이드 이론의 핵심적 요소가 거의 모두 등장한다. 따라서『노루』에 등장하는 죽음, 사랑과 증오, 집착, 사디즘적 요소 등 일반인들은 이해하기 힘든 에스테르의 비정상적 행위들은 에스테르(Eszter)의 외적 행위 자체만의 분석으로는 해석이 불가능하다. 그러나 프로이드의 정신분석 이론을 적용하면 에스테르의 비정상적 행위는 자연스럽게 그 원인과 결과가 드러난다. 그녀의 이러한 비정상적 행위를 설명하기 위해서는 먼저 정신분석 이론을 적용하여 그녀가 어린 시절에 겪었던 다양한 트라우마의 원인과 증상들을 이해 할 필요가 있다. 이러한 원인에 대한 분석이 선결된 후에야 비로소 그 트라우마 결과와의 인과관계를 설명할 수 있기 때문이다. 따라서 본 연구는 써보 머그더의 작품을 새로운 이론의 틀 속에서 분석해본다는 점과 써보 머그더 작품 연구의 외연을 확장한다는 측면에서 중요한 의의를 갖는다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

S. Freud had such a great influence on a wide range of fields that we go so far as to say his psychoanalytic theory dominated the mental science in general till the late 20th century. Hugely influenced by the theory, literature is referred to as its repository. Consequently, the psychoanalytic theory can act as a framework to analyze the suppressed desires and their expressed results in many contemporary literary works. The works of Szabó Magda finely describe female sentiments and inner conflicts and follow the stream of consciousness across a wide space of time. As one of her representative works influenced by psychoanalysis, Az őz shows almost all the key elements of Freud, such as traumas, dreams, suppressed feelings, complexes and sub-consciousness in childhood. Accordingly, the mere analysis of outer behaviors makes it impossible to interpret Eszter's abnormalities difficult for ordinary people to understand, such as death, love and hate, preoccupation and sadism. However, the application of Freud's theory enables to grasp the cause and effects of her abnormal behaviors in a natural manner. To explain her abnormalities, it is necessary to apply the psychoanalytic theory to the causes of the various traumas she experienced in her childhood; it is impossible to explain the results of traumas without analyzing such causes. Therefore, this study is highly significant in that it analyzes S. Magda's works in a new theoretical framework and thus expands the study boundaries of her works.
