태권도를 활용한 넌버벌 퍼포먼스의 공연 포맷 발전방안 연구 = A research on developmental scheme of non-verbal performance’s format in the use of Taekwondo - Focusing on 〈The Moon〉

국문 초록 (Abstract)

21세기에 이르러 기존의 공연예술이 급격한 변화를 맞이하고 있다. 국내외의 많은 공연작품들은 과거 전통적인 무대 요소들을 해체하고 고전예술에서 첨단과학에 이르기까지 다양한 무대 기호들을 과감하게 도입하고 있다. 이러한 무대예술의 특성을 가장 잘 살리면서 대중들에게 인기를 얻은 것이 바로 넌버벌 퍼포먼스 장르이며 이는 언어적 한계를 넘어 우리의 문화를 상품화할 수 있는 효과적 장르라 할 수 있다. 공연문화산업이 경쟁력을 갖기 위해서는 세계를 대상으로 한 만큼 보편성을 가지고 자국의 성격이 담겨 있는 독창적 소재에 주목해야 할 때다. 넌버벌 퍼포먼스 장르를 통한 태권도의 문화상품화는 우리의 국기이며, 문화자산인 태권도를 알리는 데 있어 무엇보다 효율적인 방안이라 할 수 있을 것이다.
따라서 본고는 넌버벌 퍼포먼스의 개념과 현재 활용되고 있는 넌버벌 퍼포먼스의 공연포맷 유형들을 점검해 보고 이를 바탕으로 본 연구의 핵심이 되는 태권도에 대한 창작소재로서의 가치를 점검하고 태권도를 활용한 대표적 넌버벌 퍼포먼스인 〈점프〉와 〈더문〉 시리즈의 공연사례를 분석해 세계화 가능성을 살펴보았다.
이를 통해 한국전통 스포츠인 태권도가 문화콘텐츠산업의 고부가가치 창출에 기여할 산업적 가치가 있는가의 여부를 검토하고 한국 전통문화와 문화정체성을 전제로 한 태권도 넌버벌 퍼포먼스 개발의 중요성과 향후 발전과제를 다음과 같이 정리했다.
첫째, 국기 태권도는 문화콘텐츠 창작소재로서 가장 한국적인 것이며 무한한 고부가가치를 내재한 한국문화의 원형으로서,
둘째, 문화상품으로서 한국의 가치관, 문화 등의 정서를 포함하고 있기 때문에 한국의 문화전파 및 이미지 제고에 큰 기여를 하게 되며, 단순한 경제적 효과뿐만 아니라 국가이미지 제고 및 국가 경쟁력 향상으로 연결되며,
셋째, 태권도를 소재로 한 다양한 고부가가가치의 문화콘텐츠 창출을 위한 기반을 조성하여 태권도 연계 산업의 인프라 구축 및 수익창출을 통해 국기 태권도 발전에 재투자 되는 선순환적 경로가 구축되어야 한다.
넷째, 이를 위해서 태권도 넌버벌 퍼포먼스를 세계적 수준의 문화상품으로 만들기 위해서는 독창성과 보편성을 기반으로 한 공연포맷의 개발과 세계진출 활성화를 위한 정책적 지원과 관광 상품으로서의 연계를 위한 전용관 확보 등이 우선되어야 할 과제로 전망된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Existing performing arts are rapidly changing by 21C. Internal and external many works introduce various signs of stage from traditional art to high technology, destructing factors of old traditional stage. Nonverbal performance is one of the most favorite genres highlighting the characteristics of performing arts, and it is the effective genre which can commercialize Korean culture crossing the language line. Creative, universal material is to be concentrated with nation’s own character and world’s universality so that performing arts business can be competitive. It is the most effective way to commercialize Taekwondo by nonverbal performance genre for introducing Taekwondo, the Korean national sport and cultural asset.
Therefore this study is about defining nonverbal performance, and checking nonverbal performance formats. Based on that, the core of this study, the value of Taekwondo as creative material is confirmed with 〈Jump〉 and 〈the Moon〉’s cases, which are the typical nonverbal performances using Taekwondo, analyzed for possibility of globalization.
It could be reviewed if Korean traditional sport, Taekwondo, has the industrial value for creating high value product in cultural contents business. So the importance and development plan of Taekwondo nonverbal performance based on Korean traditional culture and cultural identity are followed.
First, Korean sport, Taekwondo is the archetype of Korean culture, which has unlimited high value as the creative material for cultural contents.
Second it can contribute to introducing Korean culture and improving Korean image, and connects to improving national image and competitiveness as well as economic effect, as it includes Korean value, culture and emotion as cultural product.
Third, recursive course should be constructed, that the foundation is to be made for creating various high value cultural contents using Taekwondo, Taekwondo connected business is to make it’s own infra and profit, and be reinvested for development of Taekwondo.
Fourth, the performance format based on creativity and universality should be developed and government should support for global expansion and finally the theater only for nonverbal performance is necessary for connecting to tourism product, so that Taekwondo nonverbal performance can be the world-class cultural product.
