The transient characteristics of grounding systems are very important in the grounding design of communication installations and depend on the shape and size of electrodes, soil resistivity and the magnitude and wave of the injection current.
Generally former grounding design was not considered grounding resistance by transient analysis.
This paper presents an algorithm to compute the transient grounding resistance of grounding systems and simulation results are compared with the measured datas to prove the validity of the algorithm.
