This paper examines the morality of Toegye(Yi Hwang, 1501~1570) and Kant(1724~1804). The contents that constitute the morality of Toegye include Li, Ki, Sung, Sim, Jung, and Eui, and the contents that constitute Kant's morality include good will, reason, will, duty, and moral law. All of these concepts do not exist separately, but act as a basis for organically combining human morality.
It can be seen that the thought structure that constitutes Toegye and Kant's morality reflects the absurd situation of human beings rampant in reality as an emotional system dominated by chi or tendency, explaining that anyone has good morality by sex or good will.
It is explaining that the thought structure that constitutes Toegye and Kant's morality has good morality, either by sung or by good will. At the same time, we can see that it reflects the evil situation of human beings rampant in reality as Ki or emotional system dominated by tendency. In this process, Kant develops an objective and analytical way of thinking, such as presenting various figurines and concrete examples in the use of concepts and principles, while Toegye establishes a justifiable and cultivated way of thinking that emphasizes moral justification.
This means that, in the course of explaining morality, although there may be some differences in concepts and methods, there is no difference in the thought structure that penetrates the essence, the purpose is also to elicit good morality from human beings. Here you can see the similarity between the thought structure of Toegye and Kant's morality and its purpose.
