이화-AAC 상징체계 개발 연구: 어휘 및 그래픽상징의 타당화 = Development of Korean Ewha-AAC Symbols: Validity of Vocabulary and Graphic Symbols

국문 초록 (Abstract)

배경 및 목적: 보완대체의사소통체계에서 많이 사용되는 그림상징체계는 해당 사회와문화를 반영하는 어휘와 상징으로 구성되어야 한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 우리나라 특수교육 및 언어치료 현장에서 활용할 수 있는 그림상징체계를 개발하고자 하였다. 방법: 국내외 AAC 도구 및 상징체계를 분석하고 우리나라 유아 및 학령기, 초기 성인기 장애인에게 필요한 어휘를 수집하고 타당성을 분석하여 필요한 어휘리스트를 개발하고, 이에 대한 그림상징을 디자인한 후 언어치료 및 특수교육 분야의 전문가들과 장애학생의부모들을 대상으로 타당도를 검증하여 수정·보완하였다. 결과: 유아 및 중도장애학생을 위한 디자인과 일반적인 장애인을 위한 디자인의 두 유형으로 총 1 만여개의 그림상징이 개발되었으며, 높은 전문가 타당도를 나타내었다. 논의 및 결론: 연령 및 우리나라문화에 대한 고려와 상황어휘와 발달어휘의 균형있는 포함은 본 상징체계의 주요 장점이다. 추후 상징체계의 도상성 및 확장 필요성 등에 대한 후속연구가 필요하다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Background and Objectives: Cultural appropriateness of AAC vocabulary and graphic representation is an important characteristic of the line-drawing AAC symbol system.
The purpose of this study was to develop a graphic symbol system which reflect Korean culture of school and life in general. Method: Korean AAC vocabulary set was developed by analyzing various high-tech communication devices and symbol software as well as collecting age specific vocabulary for children, school-aged students, and adults with disabilities. color line drawing graphic symbols were designed for the AAC vocabulary set and were verified multiple times by professionals such as special educators and SLPs who had extensive teaching experience with students with complex communication difficulties. Results: About 10,000 graphic symbols were developed and high validity score was obtained. Conclusion: The development of Ewha-AAC symbol system is meaningful in consideration of age range and cultural context as well as having balance between situational vocabulary and developmental vocabulary. Further study is recommended for symbol iconicity and expansion.
