學校保健에 關한 硏究 = A Study on Health in Schools

A Study on health in Secondary Schools was conducted by the author from Mayl to September 30, 1969 towards 379 teachers who are school health services or teaching realted with health in Secondary Schools.
This Survey was made on the items such as area of schools, distribution by age and sex, major dept of the teachers, budget of health, disinfection of privy, cleaning of privy and class-room or ventilation, ins-pection of cleaning beautification, state of the health room, physical examination state of the fixtures. and medicines, examination of x-ray and parasitic, infection of parasitic, health counceling and recording, materials of the health education, state of teachers in-servies training, relation of community and invitation of health instructor, health event and planning (year and monthly), demend of health teachers, etc.
As the result of this study the following conclusions were obtained;

Ⅰ. Survey on School healt basis (teachers)
1. Regarding age and sex, the highest rate is shown in a group of 26-30 years of age(male; 25.7%, female; 20.0%) and ages in average were 34 years in male and 38.1 years in female.
2. Regarding the major dept of tachers, the highest rate is shown in physical education with 53.8% followed by nursing with 20.3% literature with 8.4% and the lowest is agricultural 0.8%.
3. Regarding to the school physicians and health teachers, the highest rate is shown in school phy-sicians of 67.0% "yes" 33.0% of "no" health teachers of 26.0% "yes", 74.0% of no.
4. In regard to health management or services for budget, the highest rate is shown in 10,001-50,000 waon.

Ⅱ. Survey on environmental sanitation health services.
5. Regarding the disinfection of privy, the highest is shown in the group of 1-2 times with 19.1%, followed by 3-4 times with 19.0%, 5-6times with 18.0%.
6. As to cleaning of privy and class-room or ventilation, the highest is shown in the privy of good 15.7% class-room with excellent 55.0%, ventilation of excellent with 59.0%.
7. Regarding the inspection of cleaning beautification, the highest rate is shown in a year 1-2times with 39.0% followed by 3-4 times with 28.0% 5-6 times with 11.6% 9-10 times with 9.5%.
8. in regard to health room posses, the highest rate is shownin addition room with 35.0% followed by private room with 33.0% not had room with 32.0%.
9. Regarding the physical examination of fixtures, the highest rate is shown in rural with 70.2% followed by fishing village with 62.8% remote village with 62.5%, urban with 60.5%.
10. As to the examination of X-ray and parasitic, the highest rate is rural with 89.0% follow by urban with 71.9%, fishing village with 71.3%, remote village with 70.0%
11. Regarding to the infection of parasitic, the highest rate is in the rural with 89.0% followed by urban with 71.9%, fishing village with 71.3% remote village 70.0%
12. In regard to the medicines used in schools 68.5% of teachers complain the usual ordinary of it, and 25.6% of them answered its insufficiency.
13. Regarding the health counceling and recording is shown in yes 66.0% and 37.0% no with 31.0% and 52.5%.

Ⅲ. Survey on health education and event days
14. Regarding the materials of health education, the highest is shown in text-bok, with 9.0% followed by audiovidual with 42.7% others with 6.1%.
15. Regarding the separation of health and physical education, 59.1% of teachers agreed it, and 40.1% of opposition to it.
16. Regarding the need of training, it was observed the 56.1% of teachers tend to attend if the circumcetences is allowed 41.1%, and 1.1% said it is not necessary.
17. Regarding to relation of community and invitation of health instructor, 45.1%, 31.1% of teachers answered "yes", 54.9% 68.8% on the other teachers "no" agreed it.
18. In regard to health event and planning(a year and monthly) the highest rate is in health event with 77.6% planning with 79.7% and was not with 22.4% 20.3%.
19. Regarding to demend of health teachers, the highest rate is shown in supply of special studied health teachers with 37.9% followed by supply of text-books or fixtures and drugs with 14.7% expansion of facilities with 12.9% many health budget with 12.6%.
