The objective of this research is to develop the behavior prediction system (BPS) of the earth retaining structure under construction. In the first year of the research, an analytical technique and a computer code are developed to predict the sequential behavior of the earth retaining structure. The technique is based on the elasto-plastic theory accounting for the soil-structure interaction. In-situ measurement is also carried out with a temporary earth retaining wall. The behavior predicted by the developed program is compared with other commercial programs and in-situ measured data. The developed technique is proved to predict the behavior of the earth retaining structure better than the other commercial ones.
