2013 순천만국제정원박람회 개최 효과에 대한 방문객 인식 분석 = An Analysis of the Consciousness of Visitors on the Effects of The International Suncheon Bay Garden EXPO 2013

The purpose of this study is to present basic data that is useful in planning for successful garden exposition by analyzing and evaluating visitor's awareness of economic, social, cultural, environmental and ecological effects that Suncheon has by holding International Garden Exposition Suncheon Bay Korea 2013. (The study is aimed at presenting basic data that can be used in planning and operation of successful garden exposition by evaluating and defining economic, social, cultural, environmental and ecological effects that SunCheon city received from hosting International Garden Exposition Suncheon Bay Korea 2013.) A survey targeting 300 people in Suncheon who visited the exposition from September 7, 2013 to September 22, 2013 was conducted to analyze awareness. Economic, social, cultural, environmental and ecological effects were surveyed through questionnaire designed with 5 point Likert scale. Multiple regression analysis was used as statistical analysis. SPSS version 18.0 was used as an analysis tool. The conclusion of this study is as follows.
First, those surveyed considered 'invigoration of regional economy' most important as far as the purpose of holding the exposition is concerned, which suggests that they thought creation of garden culture and improvement of urban environment important. Second, those surveyed said it is desirable that the exposition should make a contribution to improvement of art, which suggests that they think the exposition should be used as a chance to enjoy culture and art. Third, those surveyed considered holding the exposition will have a positive effect on expansion of infrastructure in Suncheon while it will have a negative effect on traffic and living environment(conditions). Fourth, those surveyed considered effect of holding garden exposition is insufficient in publicity, operation and program. It is reported that International Garden Exposition Suncheon Bay Korea 2013 created economic effect of 47,286 million won but those surveyed considered the performance of the exposition is insufficient, which suggests that connection between the exposition and Suncheon program is unsatisfactory and special distance? between the exposition and the town was not surmounted. Therefore, planning and operation that can venue and background towns can support? (grammatically incorrect. Meaning is unclear) in terms of space and program are necessary to successfully hold garden exposition in the future.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 2013순천만국제정원박람회 개최로 인해 순천시에 발생한 경제, 사회, 문화, 환경․생태적 효과를 방문객의인식 분석을 통해 평가 및 규명함으로써, 향후 성공적인 정원 박람회 개최를 위한 기획 및 계획, 운영 등에 수반되는기초자료 제시를 목적으로 수행되었다. 인식분석을 위한 설문조사는 2013년 9월 7일에서 9월 22일까지 2주 간 박람회장을방문한 순천시 내․외재자 총 300명을 대상으로 경제, 사회, 문화, 환경․생태 등 측정 지표에 대한 각각의 유발 효과를5점 리커트 척도로 설계된 설문지를 통해 조사하였고, 통계분석은 다중회귀분석 방법, 분석도구는 SPSS 버전 18.0을활용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구 결과, 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다.
첫째, 박람회 개최 목적으로는 ‘지역경제 활성화’가 가장 중요한 요인으로 인식하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이것은박람회 개최가 정원문화 창출이나 도시환경 개선 등 소프트웨어적인 개선에 우선하는 것으로 인식하고 있음을 반증하는것이었다. 둘째, 사회․문화적 맥락에서는 박람회 개최를 통해 ‘예술분야 발전’에 기여한다는 인식이 강한 것으로 나타났다. 이것은 박람회 개최가 지방도시가 갖는 취약성 중 하나인 문화․예술에 대한 보상 심리로 다가오고 있는 인식으로해석되었다. 셋째, 환경․생태적 맥락에서는 박람회 개최 목적에 대해 긍정적인 요인과 부정적인 인식이 공존하는 것으로나타났는데, 박람회 개최를 통한 순천시의 기반시설의 확충 측면에서는 긍정적으로, 반면 교통 혼잡과 생활환경 불편등의 측면에서는 부정적으로 인식되고 있었다. 넷째, 운영적 측면에서 정원박람회의 개최 효과는 순천시의 홍보, 행사운영, 시가지 프로그램 등이 미흡하다는 인식을 하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이상을 종합하면 2013순천만국제정원박람회의 경제적 개최 효과는 수치 계량적 통계 측면에서는 47,286백만 원의 경제효과를 창출했다고 분석되어 성공적 박람회라고할 수 있으나, 방문객의 주관적 인식 분석에서는 그 성과가 미흡하다고 나타남으로써 상호간 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다.
이것은 박람회 행사와 순천시가지 프로그램의 연계가 미흡하고, 결과적으로 행사장과 시가지와의 공간적 격리를 극복하지 못하고 있음을 반증하고 있는 것으로 해석될 수 있음으로써 향후 성공적 정원박람회 개최를 위해서는 개최 장소와배후 도시가 상호 공간적, 프로그램적으로 보완할 수 있는 기획 및 계획, 운영이 필요함이 제안되었다.
