'98경주세계문화엑스포와 도시개발 = '98 Kyongju World Culture EXPO and Urban Development

The objectives of this study are to analyze the impacts of '98 Kyongju World Culture EXPO in terms of urban development and to suggest some policy directions for the Kyongju development. In order to do this job, at first, this paper notes the characteristics of the Kyongju urban planning the aspects of the housing, transportation, urban economics, cultural heritages, and tourism sites. Second, it analyzes the impacts of '98 Kyongju World Culture EXPO on the Kyongju regional economy, tourism industry, and urban development including the urban infrastructure, by comparing it with other international EXPO which are hosted in Korea. Based upon these analyses, third, it suggests some policy directions on the Kyongju development for promoting the regional economy and international tourism industry. Finally, this study arrives at the conclusion.
