This study has analyzed Korea's venture capital investment for software industry in the light of the industry that the U.S. has experienced. The study finds that if Korea is to adopt the U.S. model as the strategy to the development of software industry for its use, enormous new supporting systems and measures are needed in a number of areas. There has been a relatively small domestic consumption market, the government is required to create new software demands. Since the private sector investment in software venture industry is a small, the government's investments in the venture capital market is important in Korea. The government's selective investment, however, should be made only into the successful venture firms through a rigorous evaluation of company performance and potentiality, - which may be called "Choice and Concentration".
