장애형제관련 스트레스가 비장애형제의 우울에 미치는 영향: 자아존중감의 매개효과를 중심으로 = The Effects of Siblings-Related Stress on Depression of Other Siblings without Disabilities: Focusing with the Mediating Effect of the Self-Esteem

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study conducted a research of non-disabled siblings with disabled siblings in order to examine the relations between stress, depression and self-esteem that the siblings without disabillities are exposed to because of other siblings with the disabilities. The study executed a questionnaire from 227 students (from 5th to 12th grade) who have the siblings with disabillities attending a special-education school and other special classes at the elementary, middle, and high schools in Incheon Metropolitan city and Kyonggi province. In order to figure out the relations between the main variables, the study carried out a correlation analysis. In the following, by applying the SEM method, the study investigated the mediating effect. The outcomes of the study are summarized as follows. First, from the results of the correlation analysis on the main variables, it was found out that the correlation between the siblings-related stress and the self-esteem has a moderately meaningful negative relation. For the siblings-related stress and the depression, there appeared rather a great positive correlation while, on the other hand, a meaningfully low positive correlation was discovered from the relation with the self-esteem. Second, after the self-esteem mediating effect on the siblings-related stress and depression was studied, how the siblings-related stress effects the depression was proved to be influenced by the self-esteem. Implications and restrictions for this study and future research were suggested.
