외국산 (外國産) 생물의 한국명 (韓國名) 제정에 관한 연구 = Studies on the Establishment of Korean Names for the Organisms of Foreign Origin

국문 초록 (Abstract)

1. 본연구의 자료는 국민학교, 중학교, 인문계 고등학교의 국정교과서와 검인정 교과서 중 생물 등 150종을 대상으로 찾아낸 모든 생물명이다. 2. 생물명의 출현 상태를 상하급 학교별, 학년별 또는 과목별로 고찰하였다. 3. 전체적으로 약 1,800가지 생물명이 출현하였는데 이 중에는 외국산·외래 생물의 명칭과 한국 재래 생물에 대한 외래어 명칭이 약 450가지(약25%)가 들어 있었으며, 450가지 중 약 320가지(약70%)가 외래어 기원의 명칭이다. 4. 약 450가지의 명칭을 검토하여 혼동·혼란을 가져오는 문제점 9개 항목을 고찰하고, 이것을 해결하기 위한 원칙 9개 항목을 정하였다. 5. 이 원칙에 입각하여 40가지 분류군의 동물이명(同物異名)을 정리하고, 각 분류군에서 한 가지의 적합한 명칭을 선택했으며, 어떤 부적당한 명칭은 새로운 명칭 또는 기존 명칭과 바꾸었다. 정리된 후의 명칭은 동물 164가지, 식물 197가지, 미생물 35가지 총 396가지이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

An analysis of the names of organisms which appear in 150 kinds of textbooks for primary, middle and high schools was made. The names of organisms were classified according to school levels, grades, and subjects. A tota! of about 1800 names were found, of which 450 (ca. 25%) were for foreign origin organisms and for domestic ones which bear foreign origin names, and of which 320(ca. 70%) were found to be derived from foreign language. The problems which bring about confusions were found in the analysis of these names and several principles to solve these problems were worked out. Thus, according to this line of principles, the synonyms of 40 taxa were listed and one suitable name was selected for each taxon, and many unfit names were given new names or changed to ever-existing ones. The names thus established were 396, which comrpised of 164 for animals, 197 for plants, and 35 for microbes.
