This study is to investigate management types of hospital nurses' conflict with doctors at work and the level of nurses' job satisfaction, by which the relationship between types of conflict management and job satisfaction will be identified and nurses' job satisfaction will be enhanced, as well as to provide fundamental data for improving productivity of hospital administration. 210 object nurses were randomly selected for the study from nurses with experiences working at a general hospital attached to a university in Seoul. Translated version of 'Management Types of Conflicts'(Thoman and Kilmann) by Park Won-woo(1998), with modification, was utilized as an instrument for the study and Park Ju-ok's(1992) instrument which restructured Stamps instrument was employed to measure the level of job satisfaction. 50 questions and 7 general questions were reorganized in this way and utilized for the study. Data for the study were collected from March 10 to March 28, 2000, which were processed with the help of SAS statistical program.
In conclusion, I propose that the conflict situation of nurses with doctors should be managed with 'Collaborating' type in order to improve their job satisfaction and nurses should take continuous educational courses for this purpose.
