Frederic Jameson has posed the most challenging questions ever asked to Marxist literary discourse. He has exerted his everγ effort on meditating between Hegellian Marxism and new de-constuctive discourses. Against the inclination towards anti-interpretation, Jameson aims to retain the very possibility of interpreting acts.
Any literary work, Jameson argues, can be explained by revealing hidden ideology. In reading ideology, he envisions 3 horizons. The three concentric horizons of interpretation is the answer to the problem of transcendental interpretation: the master code is not external to interpretation but immanent in it. In the last analysis, any text can be read in relation to the whole history.
