DGQR 고속 MAC 프로토콜 및 성능 분석 = DGQR Protocol and Performance

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문에서는 ATM을 기초로한 고속 Ring 네트워크의 매체접근제어 (Medium Access Control) 프로토콜을 제안하였다. 제안된 DGQR (Distributed Global Queue Ring) 프로토콜은 B-ISDN (광대역 종합통신망)의 가입자망(Access Network) 혹은 댁내망 (Customer Premises Network)이나 고속 LAN/MAN의 구축에 활용될 수 있다. DGQR의 기본 개념은 Ring상 각 노드에 있는 큐(Queue)들을 하나의 Global 큐처럼 운영하므로써 셀들의 전달지연과 지연변동을 감소시키는 것이다. 또한 DGQR에서는, Reset 및 각 Cycle 당의 전송셀 할당과 같은 예방적인 엄격한 공평성, 대역보장 Mechanism 대신에, 각 노드의 자율적 운용을 우선으로 하므로써 대역의 활용효율을 증가시키고, 각 노드에서는 체증상태가 감지될 때에만 상류노드들에 트래픽통제를 요청하므로써 대역의 낭비없이 효과적인 체증 및 공평성 제어를 행한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

A high-speed MAC (medium access control) protocol for an ATM-based ring network is proposed in this paper. The DGQR(Distributed Global Queue Ring) aims at the construction of efficient B-ISDN customer premises or access networks as well as high -speed LAN/MAN applications. The basic concept of the DGQR is to operate all queues in the network as a global queue so that the transmission delay and the delay variation may be minimized. While the previously proposed ring MAC protocols use the reset scheme to provide the fairness and the quaranteed bandwidth among the access nodes, the DGQR makes resort to the autonomous control of each node that continuously senses the status of the ring traffic. As a result, the better utilization of the ring transmission capability and reduced delay are achieved.
