Building a museum, as a complex process, generally accompanies with elaborate refinement in physical and spatial embodiments. Comparison between two different temporal stages of building the New National Museum of Korea, the study therefore intends to investigate temporal changes of physical and spatial configuration in a museum building process. The changes has been identified first by means of comparison and revaluation of space program. Syntactic analysis also has been adopted to seek and examine the considerable changes in spatial configuration. In spite of identical overall spatial properties in both stages, significant differences between two stages resulted by the analysis are firstly continual emphasis on exhibit space of the museum in both cases and secondly attempt to rearrange of public domain of the museum in practical stage.
