산업교육분야 전공 대학원생의 연구역량 형성 과정 = The Developmental Process of Research Competencies of Graduate Students in Vocational Education and Workforce Development Program

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to describe the developmental process of research competencies of graduate students in Vocational Education and Workforce Development Program. Qualitative research using the ethnographical approach was used to understand the process of research competencies development. Ethnography is selected to describe and interpret the socialization process for the graduate student to acquire the unique perception and value of the program. The Research competencies are the core elements to success their graduate study. There were main informants selected to collect data through in-depth interviews, written surveys, self-reports. The major findings of this study are as follows. First, the perceived research competencies of graduate students include the abilities to select the theme of the study, perform the study, think creatively, logically, and reasonably, build interpersonal relationships, communicate with colleagues and others. Second, the perceived research competencies were built during writing a thesis, papers for professional journals, and personal studies were led to their dramatic improvement in research competencies. The graduates’ daily experiences which are influenced by the environments of their program and their sincere participation in the community of colleagues have great influence on building their research competencies. Third, there are three types of developmental process of research competencies: ① upward moving walk style, ② stair case style, and ③ elevator style.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구의 목적은 한국대학교 산업교육분야 전공 대학원생의 연구 역량 형성 과정을 심층적으로 이해하고 기술하는데 있었으며, 문화기술지 방법으로 수행되었다. 산업교육분야 전공 대학원생을 대상으로 주 제보자를 선정하고 참여 관찰, 심층 면담 및 서면 인터뷰가 이루어졌으며, 연구진 모두가 대학원 구성원으로서 내부 제보자가 되어 자기보고 방식의 진술을 통해 자료 수집이 이루어졌다.
이 연구의 결과는 첫째, 산업교육분야 전공 대학원생들이 인식하는 연구역량은 일반적 연구 수행 단계별로 요구되는 연구수행 지식과 기술, 연구 수행 전반에 걸쳐 논리적으로 방향을 잡아가는 능력, 그리고 연구 수행을 위해 사람 간의 관계를 만들어가는 의사소통 및 대인관계능력이다. 시기별로는 석사과정생의 경우 자료를 찾고 정리하며 표현하는 능력이 중요한 연구역량이며, 박사과정의 경우 연구주제 및 문제를 형성하는 능력과 연구를 이끌어 가는 리더십이 주요 연구역량으로 인식되었다. 둘째, 대학원생의 연구역량 형성은 수업과 세미나 수강, 프로젝트 참여, 학위논문 작성 및 개인연구, 그리고 대학원 생활을 통한 일종의 문화적 사회화 과정에 대한 경험을 통하여 이루어진다. 수업과 세미나는 연구역량 향상에 가장 기본이며, 프로젝트 수행을 통하여 실천적 학습과 인지적 도제학습이 일어나 연구역량에 성장을 보이고, 논문 작성과 개인연구 과정에서 어려운 문제와 고민을 해결하면서 자신의 연구 역량이 형성 되어감을 인식 한다 셋째, 대학원생의 연구 역량 형성 과정은 개개인의 특성과 환경에 따라 상이하지만, 유형별로 나누어 보면 꾸준히 점진적으로 연구역량을 형성하는 (상승)무빙워크형, 잦은 사건이나 과제를 해결함으로서 한 단계씩 연구역량을 형성하는 계단형, 슬럼프나 어려운 과제 혹은 논문 등을 해결함으로서 어느 순간 급격하게 연구역량이 형성되는 엘리베이터형의 세 가지 형태로 이루어진다.
