고등학교 경제교육에서의 기업의 사회적 책임에 대한 논의 = Discussing the Social Responsibility of Corporates in High School Economic Education

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 고등학교 경제교육에서 기업의 역할, 특히 사회적 책임을 어떻게 다루어야 하는지에 대한 방향을 모색하는 연구이다. 이를 위해 2015 개정 교육과정과 2022 개정 교육과정의 통합사회, 경제 관련 과목에 나타난 기업의 역할과 행동에 대해 분석하였으며, 그 결과를 정리하면 다음과 같다.
통합사회 교육과정에서는 기업의 사회적 책임에 중점을 두고 있으며 교과서 역시 교육과정을 따라서 기업의 사회적 책임을 비중 있게 다루고 있다. 2022 개정 교육과정도 기업의 바람직한 역할을 명시하고 있으므로 새 교과서도 유사하게 구성될 것으로 보인다. 선택과목 경제 교육과정에는 기업의 경제적 역할만이 제시되어 있고 교과서도 기업의 이윤 창출, 생산요소 수요자와 상품 공급자의 역할을 주로 다루고 있다. 그러나 대부분의 교과서에서는 기업의 사회적 책임을 일정 부분 제시하고 있다. 2022개정 교육과정에서는 기업의 사회적 책임을 제시하고 있지 않을 뿐 만 아니라, 경제주체의 역할 부분도 명시되어 있지 않아서 사회적 책임을 다룰 여지는 더욱 줄어들 것으로 보인다.
기업의 사회적 책임이 이윤 창출과 밀접하게 관련되어 있는 경우 기업에 대한 사회의 요구가 자연스럽게 기업의 행위에 반영되지만, 그렇지 않은 경우 그 범위를 한정하기 어려울 뿐 만 아니라 기업에게 자선적 행위의 일환으로 요구하기도 어렵다. 자선적 책임을 포함한 기업의 사회적 책임은 이윤을 매개로 하여 요구될 때 효율적이면서 공정하게 이루어질 가능성이 높으며, 학교 경제교육에서도 이 점에 유의하여 다룰 필요가 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study seeks to provide direction on how to address the role of corporate, especially social responsibility, in high school economic education. To this end, I analyzed the role and behavior of corporations in the Integrated social studies and economic education of the 2015 revised curriculum and the 2022 revised curriculum, and summarized the results as follows.
The integrated social studies curriculum focuses on corporate social responsibility, and textbooks also emphasize corporate social responsibility along the curriculum. The 2022 revised curriculum also specifies the desirable role of corporations, so it is likely that the new textbooks will be similarly organized. The economic education curriculum in elective courses presents only the economic role of corporates, and textbooks focus on the role of corporates as profit-maximization, demanders of production factors, and suppliers of commodities. However, most textbooks do provide some coverage of corporate social responsibility. In the 2022 revised curriculum, not only does it not specify corporate social responsibility, but it also does not specify the role of economic agents, which means that there will be even less room for social responsibility.
In the case of social responsibility related to profit-maximization, society's demands on corporate are naturally reflected in their behavior, but otherwise, it is difficult to require corporates to do so as part of their philanthropic behavior. Corporate’ social responsibility is more likely to be fulfilled efficiently and fairly when it is addressed in relation to corporate’ profits.
